Tell us about your presents!

Lets see, I got: 4 30 round PMAGs for my M4, GI tritium compass, COD for the Wii, DS9 Season 1 (I only need one more season to have the whole series) a shirt, and a Hornady LocnNLoad AP press, calipers, powder scale, and case tumbler to make my own ammunition.
I got a Kevlar vest.
Cool and my wife got a new rifle, and so did my 10 year old daughter. My son got a bow and arrow set among other items.

The best present was watching my kids in the morning.

Isn't that the truth. :D

Our 4 year old son opened his present from my sister and her husband. The box was from a set of landscape lights. He looked at it and said, "Yippee! Lights!" and held the box up. He was even more excited when I opened the box and found a stuffed Curious George and two Curious George books. :D

Grandma, however, was the big winner - she bought the kids an Xbox 360. This from the woman who has a strict $40 limit on gifts. The kids love it and I got NHL2K9 to go with it. ;)

Funny thing you mention the box. That is one of the presents that wasnt one, but my kids loved the most. The took the empty boxes, took some markers, and had a blast. One box became an airplane, another a boat. It was heartwarming. Imagination is not dead afterall.

I wanted the Trek Pez set but couldn't find one. :(

I spent my Borders gift card already. I bought a beading calendar- one of those page-a-days with a project each week, and a beading techniques book.

Yep. Used a 20% off coupon and spent my Border's gift card last night on an autobiography about a local DJ who is donating the proceeds from the book to the American Cancer Society. I wound up chipping in $0.75 to cover the tax.

Now to just wait until it arrives at the store. I love the fact that Borders doesn't charge for shipping if you have it shipped to their store. Smart idea as you'll buy something else while you're there picking up your order.

The best present was watching my kids in the morning.

Amen brother. I think the most fun I had this year was watching my nephew (he's 2) refuse to stop playing with the gift I got him long enough to open up anything else.

And we seriously need to go shooting dude....

What kind of rifles did your wife and daughter buy you?

I just got back from spending my Chapters gift card...I managed 8 new trade paperback novels (I love book sales!) and a new, extra large, calandar that has space for notes, and a pocket for bills, letters, etc.

:techman:

I was given:
Winter boots
A Levi sweater
A state of the art food steamer
A vanilla scented candle
I'm delighted with all of them. :D

My wife gave me a Chicago Cubs-branded Santa hat, a Nintendo GameCube memory card (I just got Rogue Squadron on the Wii, so thanks for the free GameCube, Nintendo) and the Jurassic Park trilogy. Afterwards, she gave me a new (sorely needed) beard trimmer. I no longer look like a Wookiee.

From my parents, we were given a new Hoover EmPower bagless vacuum cleaner. It's not something we needed at all, given that a friend of mine just gave us a practically new Hoover vacuum (one that my mom saw when she visited our new place), but, whatever.

From my parents also, my wife got WALL-E, three very nice tops / sweaters, a gigantic Wisconsin Badgers fleece blanket (it's about 5'x11'), a Green Bay Packers / Badgers table runner, and some other nice little things.

From my parents, I got ... uh, a box of fire-starters (short little blocks of wood that are good to help kindle a fire in the fireplace), and LEGO Batman for our Xbox 360.

I think my parents like my wife more than me. :vulcan:

My dad surprised me today. He went ahead and bought me a new camera! I really wasn't expecting it. :D Bonus Christmas present!

Wow! You kids got some great gifts. :bolian: I think I was given the best though... Yeah. I know... "eyes of the beholder" and all. But I did receive some really fantastic things.

First off my parents got me some really really nice 500 thread count bed sheets. I know it sounds rather boring but I am a whore for a set of good cotton linens and these are fantastic. They also match my comforter set so, not only are the going to sleep nice, but they look nice too. Sweet!

I also received some classic Transformers, a couple of Mr. Potatoheads, a Lego set, a couple of seasons of "The Simpsons" and some clothes.

But the best present... the most magnificent present... was the remote control Wall-E! He dances, talks and you can program him to do things. It is fantastic! I know, I know. A man in his thirties should not get this excited about a silly kids toy but it doesn't take much to entertain me. :rommie:

Just returned from my mother's family's Christmas.

My brother-in-law had me in the gift exchange. Got me The Dark Knight on Blu-ray and a B&N gift card. Already have TDK, so I exchanged it for a Blu-ray of Batman Begins. Used the rest of the in store credit on my daughter so she could get some outfits for her Ariel doll that my Aunt gave her. Thoughtful present, absolutely, just too bad that St. Nick already brought me TDK. Used the B&N card to complete my James Bond Fleming 100th set of books. Also got Scott Westerfeld's sequel to The Risen Empire. My brother-in-law is a good shit. That's why we gave him a Menard's card, a bottle of Captain, and a six pack of Coke. Don't know which of us are happier.

Then, my sister and he as part of just my immediate family, gave me The Bourne Ultimatum ... on HDDVD. Sounds like Amazon processed the order for the wrong format. Also gave me a $30 Best Buy card. I've now got $130 to burn at Best Buy.

My sister and I don't always get along, but she and her husband did well by me this Christmas.

I used my three gift cards to complete my Christmas gifts this weekend. On Friday, before the Predators game, my wife and I went to Best Buy and used that card for Torchwood season two. I also picked up Sold Out: A Threevening With Kevin Smith. Today, I used my Wal-Mart gift card to have Doctor Who season four sent site-to-store to save on shipping. Also, I used my Target gift card to order the first two Doctor Who soundtracks as well as the Torchwood soundtrack. I had to pay some for each but the cards help save a bundle.

The down and dirty list...

Blu-Ray player (!!)
Ipod Touch(!!!!) - Still trying to figure the thing out..
Electric guitar - Completely unexpected but very welcome.. BUT...

Even though my wife and I have been together for 15 years, she's never noticed the way I play guitar, apperantly.. Although I'm left handed, I play right-handed.. But my wife, thinking because I'm a lefty I must play lefty, got me a lefty.. So, we sent it back to Overstock yesterday.. :(

Assorted socks and such make up the rest of the list.. Overall this was the best Christmas in a long time.. Family, friends, and cool swag!!

Well, I'm a woman who is almost 40 and I REALLY wanted that for Christmas, too. I'm very jealous! :techman:

Beyond the standard new jeans and a DVD or two, my youngest Son made me a "slide show" DVD that consisted of two parts. First part was pictures through the years of my Dad (he passed in '91) set to Sinatra (which got me crying) and the second was of my two boys through the years (which kept the tears rolling). Probably was the best, personal gift I've ever gotten. It took him a lot of time and patience, and the love that went into it's creation really showed.

My wife gave me a floor jack for my motorcycle, which I had really wanted. Will make storage and maintaining the motorcycle much easier and safer.

All in all, a pretty damn good Christmas.

Nothing wrong with wanting toys!

Heck, I'm 37 and I bought myself a Bratz doll because I collect them. And if I hadn't already gotten a computer, I would have asked for an American Girl doll for my collection, too!

My new camera is pretty awesome...

I was a lucky girl this Christmas:
1) Money to replace my living room carpet with wood flooring
2) A Gamond Nuvi GPS
3) 1 cashmere sweater
4) 1 necklace
5) 2 Pillivuyt dishes
6) DVDs: "Mama Mia" & "Narnia"

I work somewhere where we process shipments, and somebody brought one of those in to be packed. It was SO cute, and it made me really jealous!! Believe me, you're far from the only one.

Used all my xmas money to buy myself this bad baby:
