Tell us about your presents!

Just finished a very long day at my Mom's house. We had a lovely Christmas.

I got
a Magnum, PI season 8 dvd set
a blue bathrobe from my sister
a blue and white bathrobe from my Mom
(apparently, everyone in the family thought my current bathrobe was a bit ratty!)
a Best of David Bowie cd
a $75 gift certificate to Coldwater Creek (YAY!)
a Sansa MP3 player
a set of 4 mugs
a t-shirt that reads, "National Sarcasm Society. Like We Need Your Support."
a box of 36 packages of hot chocolate!
a pack of cranberry soap leaves (?)
a set of Christmas dish-towels for next year

..but the best part was watching my nephew and his new puppy, along with Max, my sister's SO's son, play outside in 70 degree weather. We had a blast!

Here's what I got. Mind you, I haven't done my own shopping yet...I'll be posting THAT tomorrow. ;)

New widescreen computer monitor!!!
Five-in-one alarm clock (alarm, date, temperature, time, timer)
Worldwide internet radio
Necklace
A couple new pairs of PJs
New pair of bedsheets
Starbucks card
Barnes and Noble card
Money

Very cool start here! :D

The Audacity of Hope by You Know Who
Hell Or High Water by Paul Martin
A Handful of Dust and Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh
Hercule Poirot's Christmas by Agatha Christie
WALL-E
The Dark Knight
HP laptop computer
Various odds and ends.

I didn't get my 2 gifts yet, but I did pick them out. But I'm old fashioned and going to wait till Christmas Eve/Day to talk about them.

I'm such a tease...

I'll tell-

They're pink and they have lace.

Ok, I'll tell now. I've been wanting this for so long now, but kept putting it off till I was back down to my proper size. I got a black wool/cashmere blend overcoat. So soft, so sexy, looks sharp. I'm so happy!!

Got a new MP3 player; nothing flashy but a good little player. And a boxset of the 1st season of Dr. Who

WOW! Sounds like a lot of posters here got some neat stuff this year like I did! Mom's gift came this afternoon from SANTA- a thermal mattress cover to keep her feet warm!! It's like a blanket, but you have three different settings to choose from. It's really nice but it was expensive! He was so happy that it came from FedEx that he was in tears all day about it.

We did a Secret Santa grab bag this year, and like always, people break the rules. We set a $30 limit.

My dad got me one of those digital picture frames, which I know run around $100. It's a neat gift, and I've wanted one ever since I saw them in the store, but he definitely went over the $30 he was supposed to spend...especially considering that was only one of many gifts he bought me.

The Ships of the Line calendar
The Star Trek Pez collectible set
Star Trek "Set Phasers to Stun" shirt.
5 products from Bath and Body Works in my favorite scent. *sigh!* Luxury!
Handmade ornaments
Doll (Mom makes/dresses one every year for her daughters.)
Various candle holders from Yankee Candle
15 genealogy books. :)
1 history book
4 Tudor books
4 "doomer" books
S3 of the Partridge Family
To The Manor Born 50th Anniversary.

I think that is it. It was a great bunch of stuff. I have reading material for weeks. :)

Here's the list from Christmas itself:

From my dad and stepmom:

New queen-sized memory foam mattress

From my mom:

Still a surprise! She says we'll need all the space we can get to bring it back in our car, however :cardie:

From SPOCKED:

World of Goo
Apple TV
Chocolates

From his kids:

Some Bath & Body Works stuff, yay!
A gift card for the movie theatre so we can go see the new Star Trek movie! :bolian::klingon::bolian:

From my grandmother:

A stainless steel toaster over/convection oven

I got some new luggage set, because apparently my old ratty suitcases horrified my mother on our trip to Hawaii a while back. That came 'from Santa'

A bluetooth headset from my mother and step-father, so now I can talk to myself and look crazy like the rest of the SF bay's population!

A two-pack of 'Sonicare' electric toothbrushes. Not quite sure what I'm supposed to do with the second one. . . also from my mom and step-dad.

A beanie from my brother and his wife.

Chocolates from my other brother and his wife.

Coffee mug/thermos/grounds from Starbucks from my sister.

Some money from my grandmas and grandpa.

A new set of A Song of Ice and Fire books since my old ones are falling apart from repeated reading and lending out. They came in several packages from Santa and my Mom(who is also Santa).

My girlfriend got me a Batarang, John Hodgeman's new book, A hand-beaded cell-phone dangley thingie and a few other little things (with "more in Portland" according to her).

I think that covers all of it. All in all a very good and very 'practical' Christmas, minus the Batarang.

I got:
The Dark knight
Halloween
Serenity 2 disk special edition
A new cell phone
2 pairs of shoes
Clothes
Watchmen
And about $200

Finally, after all these years, I got Star Trek V: TFF (a sentimental favorite :p) I'm thinking tonight might be a good night to watch it, but I really want to check out the special features, too. It would seem that the only Trek movie I still do not own is Insurrection.

I got...

Batman Begins & The Dark Knight (Blu-Ray)
Left 4 Dead (360)
Fallout 3 (PS3)
Gears of War
Halo 3
A bunch of chocolate

So far I've gotten:

A Joker T-shirt
A Michael Scott "That's What She Said" T-shirt
An AC/DC "For Those About To Rock We Salute You" Jacket
The Encyclopedia Shatnerica
A Joker Bobblehead
An SNL "I Need More Cowbell" Cowbell
Quantum of Solace for the PS3

...and the rest of my family is en route with bearing more gifts :D

Edit: Oh, I also got to open one early. It's a Hallmark Star Trek Communicator ornament. You open it, and it makes the original communicator noise, and you can press two button and there's Kirk calling the Enterprise and everybody else says stuff too.

Well, on my second wave of gifts I got:

A Joker/Dark Knight plaque with three pictures of the Joker, one where he's standing there, the other where he's fuzzy and writing "Why So Serious?" and the other he's sitting in the interrogation room with Batman standing behind him. Between all three are some film cels of the Joker talking with Rachel in Bruce's penthouse, and the chaos of downtown Gotham when the Joker starts shooting at the mayor.

A Castlevania manga book
Terminator 2: Judgment Day on Blu-ray
A clock radio/emergency alert/flashlight/cell phone charger
Little Big Planet for the PS3

A two-pack of 'Sonicare' electric toothbrushes. Not quite sure what I'm supposed to do with the second one. . .

The second one is for the lady in your life. Don't worry if she already has one. She'll find a use for the second...
