While I don't think that this version is particularly close to the 'real' version, it definitely has its good points. I like your rendition of the bussards; probably the closest that you could get without complex shaders and a great deal more detail than you apparently wanted to add.

Great work mate. I get the feeling that a version closer to the old favourite will crop up before the end of Trek XI - JJ and co. have to keep something up their collective sleeves. You're certainly helping to sell me on this boat though - may come off the fence on the "pro" side yet.
