The Great Bryan Singer on the next Superman film..

blockaderunner

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
From AICN:

Bryan Singer: I couldn’t… you know.. I couldn’t tell you or talk about that at this point. I honestly… I’m just so… at least as far as my role in it is concerned I just need… I just have… this one because we had to drop and pick up on this has been a longer process so… yeah I wouldn’t be able to give you a clear… any clarity on that. (laughs)

He should seriously get into public speaking.

This guy could give GW Bush a run for his money

No offense, but can we have a moratorium on "Singer and the future of Supes" threads until he says something notable?

i dont believe we will be hearing him say too much about a sequel to superman returns as warner brothers have basically said they are going to reboot the franchise.
he singlehandedly destroyed the franchise with his melancholy, depressing take on the character.i won't even mention the jason aspect of the film.

WHAT franchise? There was no franchise for him to destroy.

And in case you didn't notice, Superman Returns had a happy ending.

That quote reminds me of the guy on saturday night live who rambles on and on for the weekend update thing. In the end he says absolutly nothing...

I had actually just come in here to say that it reminded me of Nicholas Fehn and his newspaper readings...

wow he sounds like Palin

Yeah, I love Bryan Singer, he's one of my favorite directors currently working today, but he's a complete stuttering nutcase sometimes when it comes to talking. Does anyone remember the video where the interviewer asked him "How do you feel about Pirates of the Caribbean making so much money?" and he could barely utter a single coherent word? I'll have to find it somewhere...

Raises hand

It was sad

"I buh what? uh yeah? yeah..........."

So the guy isn't a public speaker.
His gifts and talents behind the camera in most cases MORE than make up for that.

Of course they do. And man is the guy talented. But there's no harm in poking fun at the guy's clear lack of communication skills. I, at least, do it in a loving manner. :p

What franchise? Four TV shows, a radio series, two movie serials and five no six theater movies I'd certainly call that along with all the various books a franchise.

I was talking about the MOVIES, of which there hadn't been any since the mid-1980s. You can hardly accuse him of killing a movie franchise that was already dead; at worst, you can accuse him of unsuccessfully attempting to revive it. (Though how a film that makes back more than its budget can be called unsuccessful, I'm not sure.)

And if you ARE including other media, then he obviously didn't kill the franchise, since Smallville and various Superman cartoons -- and of course, the original comics -- are still going strong.

He should get into politics. That was the best speech on economices I've ever heard.

I'd call it bittersweet at best.

-Lex gets away.
-Yeah, he's still Mr. Thirdwheel at the end too.

Or Barack without a teleprompter.

Since they tacked on the cost of the movies that were in development on top of the movie's actual budget it's dubious that the movie in the end made more than it cost to produce, in any event it just barely broke even here in the States.

… this one because we had to drop and pick up on this has been a longer process so...

I am fairly certain he is talking about Valkyrie here. Given its very long and troubled production. Considering the struggle to simply finish his current film Bryan Singer is not ready to even think about his project yet.

That is my interpretation at least. I can also speak and read Kryptonian. ;)
