NFL Football - 2008-09 Season Discussion

It's only three hours, and the teams play once a week. The worst case scenario is they have to play at 10 AM their time.

I just don't think it has much to do with it. The west coast just stinks this year. In years were the west coast had really good teams, like 02 or 94, they actually had winning records in the eastern timezone.

A bigger effect, IMO, is baseball teams from the eastern timezone who have to travel west and play games that last well past midnight their time.

That's true. The West Coast teams seem to be unusually pathetic this season, with the exception of the Chargers. But Seattle? The Niners? Raiders? Yeesh.....

^Because, as we all know, the Chargers are kicking ass and taking names this season. :p

If those guys can't even get ahead of Denver right now, they don't exactly have a lot going for them this season.

I finally get to watch a Lions game this year. Dammit, and I was so productive the last few weeks.

And the Detroit Lions are breaking out the best NFL uniforms ever for the Thanksgiving game today. That's the only reason I'm watching this game, those things look so phenomenally awesome yet simple.

Too bad the Titans aren't wearing Oilers throwbacks to go with it.

I think the number one thing that works out for the Chargers is the fact that they are usually a perenial powerhouse. Because of that, even on bad years, they still have some ability. So while they get very, very, very low, they certainly don't scrape the bottom of the barrel like some teams. However, with that said, no matter who gets in the playoffs from the AFC west, I predict that they will be done in the first round.

Well. I'm done watching football today until the afternoon game. The Lions/ Titans game is attrocious. Detroit is bending over and taking it, and the Titans are gladly delivering. The only reason to watch this game right now is to a) hope for a comeback to turn it into a real game or b)see how high the Titans run the score up.

I'm not sure if that's something to be proud of. ;)

I stopped watching that game. I always complain about how the Niners do each week and the stupidity I see on the field, but I'm thankful I'm not in Detroit. I feel sorry for anyone who is, at least in the context of this team.

Good lord, with the games being blacked out the past few weeks, I didn't know we were this bad. Just damn.

Bironas with the bankshot off the upright for good measure.

Sounds like all three games will be Turkeys today. Arizona sounds (I'm listening to the game) awful. So much for a good Thanksgiving of football.

there may be a plan for them to wear the oilers unis next season but not this season.

WooHoo! My Cowboys won!

I would have posted this right after the game but I was just too full of turkey, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, yams, corn, cucumber salad, pumpkin pie and apple pie. The only thing I didn't eat was the cranberry sauce. I just don't think food should look like a can.
