Is a date set for the trailer's online premier?

^

I believe that the registry numbers on all the other Constitution-class starships started with '17' not '10'.

If memory serves.

According to Memory Alpha, there are several with registries below 17.

[In addition to the Constellation, there's USS Intrepid NCC-1631, USS Potemkin NCC-1657, USS Excalibur NCC-1664, USS Exeter NCC-1672.
Which in and of itself makes everyone go nuts because they were all constitution class vessels and seeing as the Constitution would be the first ship in it's class it should be where the numbers start out. At 1700, but it the constellation is 1071...

Most starships seen or mentioned in The Original Series have four-digit registry numbers beginning with "16", "17" or "18".[27][28] One exception is the "NCC-1017" registry for the USS Constellation: the show's modelmakers used an old Enterprise model and simply rearranged the registry numbering.[4] Because the USS Constitution's registry number is "NCC-1700", the Constellation's number is an inconsistency to the pattern of the first ship in a class having the lowest registry number among ships of that class.

I know I'm new and everything, and I hate to be a killjoy, but do we know for certain that we will indeed see a trailer for Star Trek in front of Quantum of Solace? There's been no talk about it outside of Trek fan circles, and that leads me to believe that it's not necessarily so. I'll be the first to give myself a smack upside the head if I'm wrong on this, but I've seen no CONFIRMATION of the trailer rumor. If anyone could be so kind as to direct me to it if it does indeed exist, I'd greatly appreciate it.

The best part was when Kirk is riding his motorcycle up to what looks to be the construction of the enterprise and hes sitting there staring with a dream look in his eyes. The scene of the construction looked similar to the first teaser which leads me to believe its the enterprise he is looking at. Pretty iconic scene.

While I don't think it's the Enterprise, since Kirk lives in Iowa, and the Enterprise was built in San Francisco fleet yards, it would be cool to see him look over the country side, and seeing the a Starship construction yard or something of in the distance.

Any other details you can tell us?

Sorry i didn't realize that, im still buying all the TNG seasons, need to catch up on all my Star Trek. One of the other forums has a link to a description of the trailer which is pretty much dead on.

The pictures releases earlier this month look like screen shots from the trailer, you pretty much see the live action to alot of the pictures. It was great to see John Cho in a space suit even though it was for a split second.

but the debate on NCC-0514 will live on.

uuuuurrrgh. There is no 'debate', just whining.

Out of curiousity....

Was there anyone whining about....

NX-01

I mean really, isn't that were the ZERO as a place holder thing STARTED ?

Two digit numbers are a different thing all together. It won't take long to get to 10, so having a zero in front of the first 9 seems somewhat reasonable. However, it will take a while to get to 1000, so sticking a zero in front of the first 999 seems unnecessary.

Obviously the zero indicates Starfleet's optimism and confidence regarding the future of the fleet, and by extension J.J Abrams' understanding of and appreciation for Gene Roddenbery's optimistic vision of the future in Star Trek.
