Is a date set for the trailer's online premier?

If memory serves, I seem to recall that the teaser officially went online the Monday following it's debut in front of Cloverfield. If that pattern holds, I'd expect that the official site will launch it on November 17, but haven't heard any confirmation of that.

Has anyone else heard?

Well, the since the trailer is supposed to released with Quantum of Solace on November 014, then yeah, you're probably right in guessing the online premiere will be November 017.

Look at me, I'm numbering things Abrams-style.

Why is it so terrible that the Kelvin has a zero in the registry? I mean, really, now.
Not terrible, just odd and a bit illogical.

...and yes, it usually holds that if a trailer is released with a film on a Friday, the official online release happens early the following week. Monday or Tuesday, usually. Sometimes Sunday.

Sunday will be the lo-def, YouTube version.

NX-01-A (Dauntless in VOY's "Hope and Fear"), ST: Enterprise's NX-01, NX-02 and NC-05...

Memory Alpha, about TOS: "In a sketch of the Enterprise, drawn by [Matt] Jefferies, he states the numbers "1701" stand for the 17th cruiser design, serial number #1.

When you're dealing with a two digit number, having it start with zero is somewhat logical, since you'll reach 10 pretty quickly. A four digit registry starting with zero is less logical, since it could take quite awhile to reach 1000.

How do you know the ship wasn't repainted after the 1000th ship was launched?
Or for that matter, why does anyone assume the ships are numbered by order?

then it would be 0017 If your gonna bust on things do it right.

Why do they make license plates the way they do.

Enough NITPICKING... Damn The original number system made as much sense.

I'm not ready to dismiss a movie because you find an element of model design illogical. ;)

So you think a fledgling Starfleet would not be anticipating needing 1000 ships?

I'm guessing by the time they got up to 514 they realized they were going to be up to 1000 soon.

But who cares? They could call it NCC-FUCKYOUDAMNFANBOYS for all I care.

^I think one of those rectangle saucer ships they're planning for Trek XII can hold it.

I know I'm new and everything, and I hate to be a killjoy, but do we know for certain that we will indeed see a trailer for Star Trek in front of Quantum of Solace? There's been no talk about it outside of Trek fan circles, and that leads me to believe that it's not necessarily so. I'll be the first to give myself a smack upside the head if I'm wrong on this, but I've seen no CONFIRMATION of the trailer rumor. If anyone could be so kind as to direct me to it if it does indeed exist, I'd greatly appreciate it.

So, at 514 they realized they'd have 1000 ships and added a zero, but when the got to 638 (the Grissom) they decided to remove the zero? Does that make sense to you

Again, why would they repaint it but not the Grissom?

I just don't know. Believe me I'm fuming. I can't believe it.

To Abrams and friends: WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS TO ME? LOOK AT ME I AM A MESS!

It does make sense, but only because the Grissom, you know, doesn't actually exist. And come to think of it, neither does the Kelvin. It's all in your mind. You do it to yourself. What more can we say?
