seems cliched with Kirk being a rebellious teen who is destined for greatness and doesn't fit in.

J.J. could really be an ass and make us wait 'til the actual movie to see that...I have only one question. Where is the Enterprise?

I'm a bit dubious about some of that second tipper's comments in particular, but there are some interesting things for the reading.Courtesy of Aintitcool, via Trekmovie. Take it with a grain of salt, or not. Colour me psyched!

In a way I hope that we don't see Enterprise in this trailer and that he does make everyone wait to see it in the movie. I get weary of so many story details and so many major visuals being known in advance that actually going to the theater becomes a sort of afterthought. Being surprised by something used to be part of the reason you went to see a movie; more and more I see complaints that not enough was given away beforehand (and later that everything else wasn't explained beyond a shadow of a doubt in the DVD extras. Yeesh.)J.J. could really be an ass and make us wait 'til the actual movie to see that...I have only one question. Where is the Enterprise?
However, with the Enterprise being one of the most recognizable things from Star Trek to the general public, if only from a marketing standpoint, I can't see how they don't include it in the trailer. And if not in this trailer, than in one following it.
That does have a certain McCoy quality to it, doesn't it?Anyway, I loved the part in the description on AICN where McCoy says: "Space isn't supposed to fun! It's full of aliens and phasers and death!"

I see the unveiling of the Enterprise like the reveal of the Cloverfield monster. JJ loves to keep the audience in suspense.

(Nervously waits for the inevitable arguments to arise about registry numbers, various irrelevant minutiae)
Kirik can't drive stick! It's canon! If that Chevy isn't an automatic, I'm going to be very upset.
If Kirk is that young shouldn't he be on Tarsus IV? Maybe he was running from Governor Kodos?
Some thoughts:
1. I am not too sure about angry Spock and angry Kirk fighting. It just seems so odd to see that from two characters who were best friends in TOS fighting like that. Of course, it is years before TOS and people forget that Spock is half human, half Vulcan, and I believe that has been mentioned that at the Academy Spock took a while to find himself. I want to see where it goes.

If it means anything, one of my best friends is a guy who I knocked out in High School several years ago.
I have only one question. Where is the Enterprise?
