I mark Season 13 as the last of the great seasons (Poppa's Got A Brand New Badge, the season finale, was a classic); since then it's more sporadic, but it can still produce gems. I enjoy it; it's comfortable, like an old blanket.
I was born in 1987, so I remember when the show was Public Enemy #1 and my parents didn't want me to watch it. How far we've come.
Your parents may not have wanted you to watch the show but by the time you were old enough to watch and comprehend the show you were way too old for it to have been Public Enemy #1. It was only that for maybe the first two seasons.

First it was The Simpsons, but Beavis and Butthead really drew a lot of ire. Married...with Children was on the verge of being canceled until some religious nut-ball brought the "degenerative nature of the program" to the public spotlight, ratings soared, and the show went on into infamy. Stupid whackos.
