The closest was in one episode where Homer is going through various photos of stuff he's done, and shows one of him punching former president Bush, then flips to the next photo, him punching out "current President Bush" (with Homer punching Dubya in the Oval Office).
The more I think about it, the odder Bush Jr.'s relative absence seems considering the many Presidents that have appeared...

I remember in the episode where they go to Australia, a US official mentioning that they would be boarding a helicopter over to the USS Walter Mondale, a laundry ship.

Wow - I'd be careful with what I said. I work for an internet security firm and we would alert the authorities to a message like that.

As far as the topic goes, I'm glad to hear it. 'The Simpsons' may not be up to the quality it once was, but I still find myself enjoying it most of the time, and that's all that really matters.
Damn you're young
First it was The Simpsons, but Beavis and Butthead really drew a lot of ire. Married...with Children was on the verge of being canceled until some religious nut-ball brought the "degenerative nature of the program" to the public spotlight, ratings soared, and the show went on into infamy. Stupid whackos.
Well Saturday Night Live still has it beat. I don't believe it's been funny since the mid 80's.
