Star Wars: Clone Wars..are you in or out?

I don't unerstand the fascination with the Clone Wars storyline. I was ready for it to be overwith back in Episode II.

Out. Not so much the Star Wars part that I'm sick of, it's the Clone Wars.

Between the two movies, the video games, the other cartoon series, and more novels and comics than I care to keep track of, they're just beating a dead horse now.

Seems like sooner or later (sooner at the rate they're going) they'll have to let this storyline go for no other reason than because they've cataloged everything that happened on every day of the war.

Since I have cable anyway and I'm already paying for the cartoon network, I'll say I'm in. Now I just have to remember to watch it.

Because the franchise is called Star Wars, and here we finally have a time period within the galaxy (pardon the pun) where we have a full blown, all-out war, and people aren't interested???

Gee...I guess Han shooting first is the only thing some Star Wars fans really care about.

A war that's already been covered extensively in movies, novels, comic books, video games, and TV for the past six years. It's time to move on.

It's a kids show. Doesn't matter to me if it is good or bad, because I am not the target audience. I hope children enjoy it as the universe is fun and I remember what it was like to pretend to be Luke Skywalker.
Well said as always, Brew.

I love the Clone Wars era. It's pretty epic and portentious since you know where its going to lead to, the end of the Republic, the massacre of the Jedi, and the Empire. On screen it felt more epic than the Rebellion from the OT, with more aliens, worlds, and more battle scenes. Plus, it delved into politics and how democracy erodes and dies. The OT never really gave us an idea of what would happen after the rebellion was over. Now, that wasn't necessarily the point of the OT but I still would've liked to get an inkling.

Good points.

I think the new aliens, new worlds, new droids are really going to appeal to the younger crowd. That's what appealed to me as a child while watching Star Wars.

Besides, Clone Wars is a great way to do what Star Wars did for us and that's sell toys.

I'm in. This is actually getting fairly decent reviews, (they're actually better than Sanctuary which kinda suprised me) so I'm gonna go ahead and give it a try, since I like SW and the Clone Wars time period. But I also really want to see Sanctuary, so I just need to decide if I which to watch live and which to record.

Adding to this, a war that wasn't very interesting to begin with, considering how it was fought almost entirely by robots, and people with all the personality of robots.

Also, We already saw the beginning and end of the Clone wars. So all we can possibly get is the filler battles they didn't bother showing before. Hooray.

I thought both episodes were very, very good. I liked the film but it was really three episodes in one. Here I think it worked a little better and the animation has gotten even sharper.

They're not skimping on the violence. Let's just say the days when a Joe or Cobra would just out of a plane with a parachute are over.

It's better than that Sanctuary crap.

Actually, I didn't watch Sanctuary. :p

Yoda episode was okay.

Plo Koon episode was better.

Battle Droids are at their goofiest ever, but at least they are (incompetent) killers.

WHERE'S THE DAMN POLL?

That's the 'danger' of this series. However, I'm hoping that the writers will focus more on, or some at least, on other Jedi who got short shrift in the movies, like Kit Fisto, Aalya Secura, Luminara Unduli(sp), Shaak Ti, etc., or make up new Jedi characters. The series could also serve to flesh out Bail Organa, his wife, Alderaan. And it could serve to introduce some of the other leaders of the rebellion, like Mon Mothma. I don't necessarily want it to be all about them, but a cameo here or there, or a story featuring them would be cool.

Also, CW has the opportunity to add more depth to the Separtists. In the crawl to Ep. III, GL said that they're were heroes on both sides. So, why haven't we seen the Sep heroes yet? I think that's the promise the CW has more me. To really flesh out the war in a way that can't be done on film.

Well, I will say this. The previews looked pretty neat. Even though I'm not into it, it looks like it has the potential to be a good kid's cartoon. Or if you're a SW fan really into cgi battle, this could be awesome. So even though I'm not going to be a fan of this, I'm not really against it.

Also, seeing those goofy-ass droids as cartoons actually makes the PT make sense to me suddenly. The PT works as a live-action cartoon. Think about it. All Lucas has to do to fix the PT is replace all the crappy live-action with more cgi.
