This may seem kind of crazy, but is there any way we can make the saucer section look more like a sombrero? Or maybe put a sombrero on top of the saucer section?

Now that Cogley and Bak have me all misty-eyed and patriotic... (and proud that my purple-clothed Spock was mentioned...) I'm gonna go make a better world.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but what the hell does that have to do with blue warp nacelles?

    Nice!

I was also thinking about either a coonskin cap....

Or a nun's hat. I couldn't remember what it was called, and then I found this, which is funny in its own right:

    Q: What is a nun's hat called?

A: This can be part of her 'habit'. The amount of layers and the type indicate the nun's position in the hierarchy. The wimple worn by a nun is called a cornette. The habit is a robe.

Let's here it for some wimples and some cornettes. Let's see people laugh at that! Impossible!

I think the Victorian Gentaprise needs a monocole.

No, no. If we want the Christmas 2008 release date restored, we should be adorning the Big E with Santa's hat, moustache, and beard, and have it pulled by eight flying reindeer led by a ninth reindeer in front with Shatner's face and a glowing red nose. And lots of Christmas lights.

You know, in this chaotic world, there's something very comforting about being away from this board for a month, coming back, and finding that the beloved Blue Warp Nacelles thread is still humming along and that people are still wearing sombreros.

    :)

It's nice to be appreciated. Why, I remember when I first posted on the TrekBBS, I asked the Original Series forum why, in "The Changeling," Kirk and Spock didn't just cut the string holding up Nomad. The reception was not good... :borg:

Damn it all to hell that this perfectly crafted post is just a few letters too long to work as a signature.

Barkley, have a suitably reduced version that still packs all the punch of the original on my desk first thing Monday morning. You heard me!
