Two things: One is, what experiences do you ladies have with waxing? I've just made a ton of appointments at a salon for the first time and I'm scared out of my mind. Anything I should know ahead of time?
Other is just fun ... I've recently gotten more and more into jewelry, and haven't quite found my style yet. What are your favorite pieces of jewelry you own, and why? Pics would be great. And where do you get your jewelry? Discovering Etsy was either the best or worst thing to happen to me!
I never used to wear rings until I got engaged, but now I love that and also purchased a pinky ring that's white gold, and has an "Om" on it (Hindu symbol). Here's a picture of my most recent indulgence though, from Etsy:

Very nice necklace. I'm a little worried about getting an engagement/wedding ring, because I absolutely hate wearing rings. They make my fingers feel toxic (yes it's weird). I am hoping I can wear the ring on a necklace, but then how will people know I'm engaged?
Thanks! I never liked wearing rings, but I've grown to love mine. But there's no reason you should get one if you don't like them. If you do decide to get one and wear it on a chain, that's not so uncommon. And is it really crucial for strangers to know you're engaged? People you converse with will figure it out, and I don't think it matters much beyond that.
I buy jewelry at fleamarkets and in arts & crafts stores when I'm on holiday. Also, I buy cheap stuff at H&M or Six. Usually not high-quality, but you can always buy more.
And I love Accessorize, but mostly for their bags.

I go in for upper leg/bikini/brows every six weeks. The first few appointments are the more painful ones but if you're used to monthly cramps like many of us are you'll find it to be a cakewalk.
I look for original pieces at art shows. Other than that there are some local jewelers I go to every now and then. My favorites are a Hermes red enamel bracelet and an opal necklace I got from my parents. They had bought the stone when they were in Australia then designed the setting themselves so it has a lot of sentimental value.
What kind of waxing are we talking? Standard bikini, leg, underarm, brazilian?

The first time is going to be a little painful. This comes from someone with a moderate pain threshold. Painful as in, I never made a sound, but I had to work a little to keep silent and I flinched. You'll discover some areas are more sensitive than others.
It'll also take a little longer the first time, probably somewhere around 15 minutes depending on how heavily the area needs to be waxed.
Tip: if you haven't already, trim the area so the hair is between 1/2 and 3/4 inch. Any longer or shorter and it's harder to wax. I also find that the brand of wax has a lot to do with the pain and effectiveness, but you're pretty much at the mercy of your salon in that regard. If you feel up to it and want to continue waxing, get follow-ups at different salons until you find one you like best.
The good news: it's quick, and follow-ups are much less painful, faster and often cheaper. It doesn't itch when growing out either, and eventually it'll grow out more slowly. Yes, there will be a point when you can go 4-6 weeks without a wax!
Another tip: getting a brazilian means you may be put in some awkward positions. Just remember that the waxer is like a gynecologist: they see lady bits all the time, don't be embarrassed.
