attention girls: embrace your inner...

 Of course shrimp are animals. That's why they're so tasty with cocktail sauce. ;)

I could never survive as a vegetarian. I really do like seafood, beef, chicken, even pork.

Meat is just too tasty.

I just wouldn't have the focus to be a vegetarian either. Too many amino acids to keep track of.

I think I could make it as a vegetarian if I really wanted to. I can't even be in the same room as seafood without feeling like I'm going to throw up, and pork is pretty bad as well. I really only eat ground beef and chicken, but I could give them up if I had to.

I could NEVER give up dairy products though. That's just going too far!

i hate meat and i hate dairy. also allergic to dairy. and i absolutely love tofu.

it's so far beyond easy for me. :p

i always roll my eyes at people who are like "you don't know what you're missing!!"

um, i stopped eating meat because i hated it. therefore, i'm "missing" food i hate. TEH OH NOES!!!

What am I supposed to be embracing? :)

Interesting... I've just gone back to the first post and it's never actually stated.

So, Daeana and Scatta - what inner thing are we meant to be embracing?

Answers on a postcard to the usual address...

oh, and welcome TrekkieGirl - hope you enjoy our little estrogen-filled section of the BBS ;)

Yes, it is.

Yesterday, I fixed my first ever standing rib roast with Yorkshire pudding. I was very impressed with myself, actually.

daeana, you just pass your share of the meats and dairies over here. blab and I will make sure nothing goes to waste. ;)

i can't even remember anymore.

i'd rather there be NO shares near me lest it contaminate my food. :p

I think it was "embrace your inner b----." Then someone made it twitch. I think. I don't really remember either, but I'm pretty sure that "embrace your inner b----" was what I said, because it just sounds like something I would say.

Well I can definitely do that! My inner bitch is so fully embraced she's often my outer person too!

FYI -- Lunapads has liner seconds in the sale shop. I almost bought three sets, but I made myself go and COUNT what I already have. :o Yeah, "almost bought".

i'm reminding myself that i don't USE liners, so i shouldn't buy any. :p

i also need shoes. and kitchen supplies. and clothes.

Well, the shoe shopping got put on hold for a few weeks to buy skin care products instead.

I just want to say that I love my new moisturizer. It's Origins "A Perfect World" moisturizer. I certainly couldn't afford $35 for 1.7 ounces, but I found a way and it is going to be SO worth it. I love it even after one use.

ETA: A $35 dollar moisturizer makes my still very young, but much more tempramental, skin feel the way that moisturizing cleanser from the Wal-Mart made it feel when I was in high school. If the price of products that satisfy me keeps going up ten-fold every ten years, I will need to find a bank that does skin care loans by the time I am my mother's age.

Scatta, that's my mom's favorite moisturizer too. i found that it wasn't moisturizing enough for me, since my skin falls into the category of "absurdly dry", but their "never say dry" moisturizer for absurdly dry skin rocks. :techman:

Well, I've ordered my first Diva Cup.
And now I'm trying it on. (I figured I'd try it on for exactly an hour. Half an hour to go.)

It feels really weird - I assume that's the sort of thing that I'll get used to?

I used a tip that somebody gave me about tampons (a few years late, after I'd already learned to put them in) and slathered it in Vaseline first. It took a couple tries, but it's not that hard to get in.

if you can feel it, it's probably not in right. most likely, it's not high enough. have you worked on trimming the stem? it shouldn't actually stick out.
