College Football 2026: The Big 10 Has 18 Teams

Time for this year's college football thread.

Will Indiana still be any good? Will we see the first player with 10 years of eligibility? Will the transfer portal break down from overuse?

I like the headline. The Big 10 has 18 teams. Someone flunked Math I think. :lol:

Or were they talking about regions?
 
The Big Ten expanded to 18 teams but didn’t change the name of their conference.

Maybe it’s 10 good teams and 8 crappy ones.

Yeah.
The UW used to be a Big Fish in a Small Pond in the Pac 10-12; now, they're going to struggle to reach .500 against the Big Ten teams.
The university is chasing the money at the expense of a winning record and a shot at a bowl game.
Although, with them expanding the number of playoff eligible teams, the UW might be able to squeak in with a .500 or sub .500 record.

I'm a Michigan Grad and I'm hoping for a big improvement over last year. The Big 10 (~18-ish) is the toughest Conference IMHO. Go Blue! :techman:

I'm also a Tennessee Grad, but they seem middle of the pack this year. Rocky Top! Go Vols! :cool:
 
New Purdue AD Tommy McClelland during his introductory news conference: "Every recruit, every current student athlete will hear this message repeatedly -- we are here to win championships. If you don't want to win championships, go to Indiana."

Uh, what? Go to the school that won the football championship?
 
I remember when the kids were largely supposed to be there to get an education. :(

We’ll see what Indiana does without Mendoza.
 
Max Johnson, 25, named starting QB for Georgia Southern. This is his seventh season in college and the fourth school to name him QB1.
