Red hair can look very different in different lighting conditions. She seems to be in the shade in those photos, backlit by a brighter scene, which would probably make her colors look darker (her skin and eyes also look a bit darker in those photos than in others I found in an image search). So I'm not sure if they've changed her hair color significantly.
Still, there are many redheads in comics, far more than in real life, where it's the rarest natural color (since old comics had an easier time rendering red-orange shades than brown). And characters in screen adaptations often have different appearances than the characters they're based on. So I really don't get why so many people have latched onto the idea of Jean Grey appearing in a Spider-Man movie, of all things, beyond their assumption that the MCU plans to introduce the X-Men sometime in the near future.
Because according to Kevin Feige, the next film after Secret Wars is the X-Men reboot, and we're three films away from that. No films will be released between Doomsday and Secret Wars. This increases the likelihood that the X-Men reboot cast will be introduced gradually over these three films, rather than all at once. Also, they wouldn't keep a character a secret if they weren't an important figure in the future of the MCU.
That's what I said already -- "beyond their assumption that the MCU plans to introduce the X-Men sometime in the near future." It's still pretty tenuous reasoning, and does not exclude other possibilities. And really, how often has a new MCU cast member been introduced three films in advance of their intended series? That's only happened with Black Widow and Spider-Man, assuming Black Widow was intended all along as an Avengers character. Most "teaser" appearances of upcoming characters are only 1-2 movies in advance.
And that's an assumption. Just because we can't think of another reason doesn't mean that none exists.

Why does Marvel need to introduce the X-Men across three films? Did Fox need three movies to introduce the X-Men before 1999's X-Men? Did Stan and Jack introduce the Original Five with cameos across Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four back in 1963? Did Len Wein and Dave Cockrum introduce the new X-Men across multiple comics before Giant Size? No, no, and also no. Give the audience some credit. If they're dropped fresh into a new iteration of the Xavier School, they are going to manage.

Because some of the X-Men characters work better as solo intros in other stories before joining into a team.
Like, having Storm be in a BP movie might be better for her rather than immediately joining a team. Same with Rogue and maybe even Cyclops and Jean showing up independently somewhere else before the main X-Movie.
Wolverine, in the comics, appeared in The Incredible Hulk before the X-Men.

I don't think you NEED to introduce the characters in other films first, it's just something the MCU has been doing.
However.... Many characters have benefited, I feel, from being introduced in a film before their own solo outing. Black Panther, Spider-Man... there are no doubt more but right now my brain is freezing.
Like Anwar said, I think Storm in a BP movie would work amazingly well, and we get to have a bit more focus on a character before a bigger ensemble piece.
But, yes. The point stand, you don't NEED to do it. Thor, Cap, the Guardians, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man. They all had solo movies first and it worked out fine.

This is all great in the abstract, but remember the X-men movie comes right after Secret Wars. There is no BP movie/whatever else movie to introduce a bunch of characters in. There is Spider-man and Avengers (two parts) and that's it. This principle at this point really only matters to characters who aren't even going to be in the first X-Men movie (which is hopefully not Storm, Cyclops or Jean) and will be saved for a sequel.
I do think we'll see some of the new X-men in one or both Avengers films, but that's definitely not because they 'have' to introduce them separately or it won't work. Nor even that it will necessarily be better for the characters. It's just good marketing, and will help maintain some feeling of continuity between the pre and post Secret Wars MCU.
I'm a lot more sceptical of them being in Spider-man for a variety of reasons, and even more sceptical than that of such a hypothetical introduction being good for them as characters (especially if it's Jean Grey). But we'll see soon enough on that.
Storm doesn't have to be in the first X-Men movie. She can still be introduced in the third Black Panther film and then appear in the next X-Men film. Same goes for just about anyone aside from the core members, although granted the definition of "core members" is different for everyone.

Storm is 100% a core member who needs to be in the first film. There is no other X-Man more important to the franchise except Cyclops.

Storm wasn't introduced until 12 years after the X-Men debuted.
Re: the Jean Grey thing, "money" is the only answer that anybody has to the question of what would incentivize Sony to let Marvel Studios put the character in their (Sony's) movie, and it's a very weak, flimsy, and fleeting answer that doesn't really explain anything.
