What is your personal head canon?

Timey wimey.

In all seriousness, it is where the broad strokes come in. Though there is no perfect way to look at any of this stuff. Just multiverse is my personal preference.
Oh no judgement I myself am no stranger to just sitting there and just waving away certain elements.

The "two century" and "200 years ago" statements after the 1990's for Khan's rule on Earth is the major continuity problem

Meh. We all speak in generalities. Anything in the 1800s is 200 years ago to me, even though the math really narrows that to 1826 and prior.

Query, how do you reconcile post First Contact references in DS9, VOY and Lower Decks and the ENT references in Lower Decks whilst treating First Contact and ENT as the foundation for a separate universe?

Curiosity not a criticism.

Points of divergence? Each of his bullet points are a branch point? So bullet point 2 branched off of 1, 3 off of 2, etc. Each branching timeline can refer to common history while still diverging away.

I actually got really bored a while ago and started writing up an entire alternate universe to accomodate my own head canon. It all started when I tried doing a creative writing exercise to explain why Starfleet uniforms changed so dramatically between TMP and TWOK.

In short, I came to the conclusion that the number of "alternate" timelines depicted in the various TV and film iterations of the franchise was actually seven:

  • TOS / TAS / TMP timeline: Exploration, peace, post-scarcity economy - the best elements of Roddenberry's original concept
  • Trek II–VI timeline: a divergent successor timeline characterized by a militarization spike, command culture shift
  • TNG / DS9 / Voyager / Picard / Lower Decks timeline (A later divergence emphasizing post-scarcity politics over exploratory primacy)
  • Discovery / SNW / Prodigy timeline: A pre-TMP divergence with early technological acceleration
  • Kelvin timeline: A catastrophic branch triggered by confirmed temporal incursion)
  • Enterprise (NX-era) timeline: A post-First Contact altered baseline, consistent with fan and internal logic
  • Mirror Mirror timeline: a seperate timeline that has bled into two other timelines
It may not be supported ANYWHERE in canon, but it's a fun bit of mental shorthand to explain to my pattern-seeking detail-obsessed brain why there seems to be so many differences between the Starfleet of 2271 and 2285.

Tim
Voyager is a nightmare to make sense of. The ship that ended the show 100% isn't the one that started it. I tried to draw a branching timeline chart of it once but gave up:lol:

Yeah, in "Azati Prime(ENT)" we learn from Daniels that Xindi serve in Starfleet in the mid-to-late 26th century. But even four hundred years after the attack on Earth there would still be Federation citizens and humans who'd be very uneasy around the Xindi, much as Klingons and Romulans still elicited nervous reactions from people many generations or even centuries after those powers' last conflicts with the Federation.

Speaking of which imagine the nerves if the insectoids or reptilians were walking around inside Starfleet

At some point at least one probably was. In PRO Admiral Janeway, the kids and Thadiun Okona interact with Xindi-Reptillians who work as security for a Federation port or trading facility. The Federation seems to trust the Xindi-Reptillians well enough to let them be the muscle for that installation.

That's interesting. Makes me wonder when they joined starfleet facilities and such, and if we'll see them in SNW since that is closer to the Enterprise time period I wonder how many years they have been new allies with Starfleet after the wars.

And that episode is around 2384, so 230 years after the Xindi crisis was ended and Archer earned the cooperation of the Xindi Council.

OK I've never watched Prodigy.

When I first saw them in Enterprise I wondered if they had nicked them off the costume dept. of Galaxy Quest

They did reuse Xindi-Reptillian costume elements for Reman guards in Season 4. They just removed the shoulder rings.

Possibly? Seems like they'd want to make the most of those movie costumes seeing how expensive the film was. They could have added rings for the Xindi-Reptillians then removed them again for the 22nd century Remans.

After “Valles Marineris”, whatever Pike may project, he absolutely
feels that he deserves everything that’s coming for him in a few years, and more.

MITCHELL: If I hadn't aimed that little blonde lab technician at you
KIRK: You what? You planned that?
MITCHELL: Well, you wanted me to think, didn't you? I outlined her whole campaign for her.
KIRK: I almost married her!

Carol Marcus. Kirk telling Mitchell to "think" would set off a series of events that would wind up saving Earth in Star Trek IV and bringing peace between the Federation and the Klingons in Star Trek VI. First appearance of Kirk to the last appearance of the original series crew. That's my head canon!

So, since it’s hard to picture Kelvinverse Kirk doing that during the Academy days, will Kelvin Earth be doomed when the Probe shows up?

Who knows? All we know of the Kelvinverse is that some alien in a starfleet uniform shows up and that's it. Earth could very much be gone.

Do they even have time travel? This was discovered due to the events on Psi 2000 (The Naked Time.) No attempt with warp engine implosion, no time travel.
