News Season 2 will be the last (show cancelled)

Extensively speaking about things you dislike, possibly with the accompanying goal of preventing similar missteps in the future? There goes most of politics, right there.

This isn't politics, which impacts multitudes at different levels, whether you participate or not.

This is entertainment were involvement is purely voluntary and how is this changing the outcome of future media?

The toxic side of the fanbases sure does seem to flourish in this day and age. May no one ever make shows they like ever again because those losers don't deserve nice things.

Meanwhile I will continue to enjoy what little Academy and Acolyte there is because no hate can overpower my love.
Yeah this is why I'm probably not going to check in with whatever comes next for trek. The fanbase is too full of toxic weirdos who don't genuinely understand the show they claim to love.

I think the tv division of trek will be shut down and we will only get movies. After the massive failures of section 31 abd SFA I dont think paramount has the stomach for more bad tv shows. Ill definitely pay to see the new movie since Kurtzman is absolutely not involved.

Right. But after netflix bought Prodigy I hardly heard about it. Since sfa looks like it did worse than Prodigy I really doubt Netflix would buy it. If I was the accounting guy at paramount I would recommend a tax write off. Running the 2nd season would give paramount little return. A tax write off would put easy money in their pockets that they could spend on something else
Wait?
Neelix bought Prodigy?

When all people do is complain then I become confused as to what is more enjoyable; watching a show or complaining.

Where's the button on the remote that tells them "We're very interested in new Star Trek, just not this new Star Trek?"

Trick question, there's only one button on that remote.

I remember I stopped watching Enterprise after nine episodes. This was because at the time TNN/Spike TV started airing TNG on the exact same time slot as Enterprise. It was my first real chance to watch TNG, so when I had to choose between watching the newest episode featuring Archer or a rerun with Captain Picard, I opted for the latter. It actually makes me wonder how many other viewers like me made that choice, and if that was what partly hurt the ratings for Enterprise.

I think doubling the budget of Voyager is what aborted the show.

The awful final season of Andromeda was made for one million dollars an episode... Shit? Either Sorbo was a Mensch, who slashed his acting fee (he was still paid to produce) or far more believably Kevin gave himself a pay rise for season 5 as the rest of the production burned.

Section 31 was a movie.

And to be perfectly honest, movies are the wrong direction to go with Star Trek. Its never really been a setting that makes a lot of money with movies.

Star Treks actual money comes from low budget shows and licensing agreements.
