News Season 2 will be the last (show cancelled)

Well theyll need to do it soon. They get hits every so often but not like the olden days.
I'm talking about the "Ai will destroy the film industry" thing. Hollywood will be fine until someone can make stuff with Ai that people will pay to see. Can Ai stuff get clicks? Sure. Can it make money? We'll see.

Paying cold hard cash for content produced by algorithms does not sit right with me, as I imagine it does not for a broad range of folk.

People keep paying for Star Trek while swearing up and down that it's corporate algorithmic slop so the fear of missing out cannot be dismissed.

People seem unwilling to miss Star Trek or the opportunity to complain about it at times.

Well let's hope studios develop something to get fans back in theaters. Hard for me to believe people would rather stay home. The theater experience is still unique and a lot of fun.
I hate to say it, but these days I much prefer staying at home and watching. While the "theater experience" is fine, it's usually ruined by high ticket prices, high concession prices, people talking, people playing on their phones or bathroom breaks. I have a pretty good home setup so watching at home is much more attractive to me than it use to be. If they want to get people back in theaters, start making it more affordable. Otherwise, I'm staying home and saving money.

I find myself thinking of a weird silver lining. At least Academy got a formal cancellation. The change in management at DC just satlw Young Justice, Harley Quinn and Kite Man all just stop. No official cancellation or anything communicated to them just left behind.

There are simply certain movies that I would not like seeing for the first time at home, no matter my set up. Certain films that are action/adventure or filmed for IMAC or something. That's probably only 20-30% at most for me, but I would miss it.

Ticket prices usually are fine; it's the concessions that are the worst. But it's always been that way, and you of course don't have to buy any of that. The other stuff is very customer specific; I've rarely had issues with that in all the times I've been to the theater, but understand that some have had worse experiences.

Indeed. Both Strange New Worlds and Academy got their appropriate notice, and they will wrap up. This is the end and that is acceptable.

Well Academy won't get to wrap up per se but at least we know the cliffhanger will never be resolved and won't be stuck with 'well maybe it will be we're just waiting to hear back.'

No uncertainties, no worries, no constantly checking for news. Plaster is torn off.

As with the Kelvin films, it is a place I can be ok with ending.

Agreed. I have only my phone so the movies call me. Lol. I sit usually in the front two rows somewhere. No one the tends to bother me. I really love the jumbo popcorn and soda/slush. Lol

I heard if some lady that has written a ton of books on a.i. within a year. She's making money. Ill need to look up that story. Scary stuff.
You can't copyright LLM produced works, so there's no point in it.

That idea runs counter to the low numbers Academy brought in.

When I don't like a show I try my best to not take up pages of bandwidth on the Interwebs reminding strangers I don't like a show. I just don't watch it.

How could you be with us and showcasing that 'fro on the Mod Squad if you were constantly grinding axes elsewhere?
