Well, there’ve been SIX James Bonds, so what’s a few more Kirks and Spocks?I also don’t see them rebooting Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise for the fourth time.

As a total, unapologetic reboot. Not a whisper about the Prime or Kelvin timelines. No alternate timeline claptrap.
Absolute reset across the board.
i expect that is exactly what they'll do. They will likely do a total reset. Back to TOS era again
I've lived through the drought of the 70's and the gap of the 2000's. We'll be fine. Plenty of other great TV, movies and books to occupy those hours while Star Trek gets its much needed break and refresh. It'll come back strong. And then the cycle will repeat itself.Sadly I think trek as we know it is done. Anything we get from the new paramount is going to apolitical action schlock. I expect the IP is going to be rested until they either decide to sell it or America comes to its senses in 2028.
People complain when Trek is on.I've lived through the drought of the 70's and the gap of the 2000's. We'll be fine. Once. March 1968. Lasted six minutes.People complain when Trek is on.
People complain when it's not being made.
Was there ever a time Trek fans were actually happy?
With the toxicity of the fanbase, I genuinely don't care if trek ever comes back. The majority of the fanbase has absolutely no idea what trek is about and I'm not sure I'm interested in spending more time among them.I've lived through the drought of the 70's and the gap of the 2000's. That's pretty much where I'm at. Being a fan among fans used to be fun. With the toxicity of the fanbase, I genuinely don't care if trek ever comes back. The majority of the fanbase has absolutely no idea what trek is about and I'm not sure I'm interested in spending more time among them.
they tried something new and fresh with SFA and people rejected it.The best approach would be a new Enterprise with a new crew post Picard. Something new and fresh.
Sadly, it will most likely be another reboot with the same old characters played by different actors.
yes. the fanbase, at least some elements of it, has become so toxic. With the toxicity of the fanbase, I genuinely don't care if trek ever comes back. The majority of the fanbase has absolutely no idea what trek is about and I'm not sure I'm interested in spending more time among them.
Why do people assume a total reset/reboot would have to go back to the 23rd century?

So, before my (fan) time? From my perspective the best time to be a Trek fan was the 1980's.

I was born in 84. So, yeah definitely couldn't be a fan at the height of the 80sI guess? I honestly have no clue how old you are or when you became a fan. I can only speak for myself.
