I sometimes wonder if we might ever see the full plans for what King Abdullah II had in mind for the Star Trek theme park that was going to happen in Jordan, the Red Sea Astrarium. What little I did see of it looked amazing.

One time we did a behind the scenes tour, and they showed us how the beaming trick worked. Very cool.

I wish it was still around.

Basically the original walls and ceiling retract quickly (which is where the whoosh of wind comes from). New walls and ceiling are slid into place, and the floor lights up like a transporter pad.

Strobe lights and the beaming sound distract you a bit while the movements take place.
