News Exclusive: Scott Bakula Eyeing Star Trek Return In President Archer Series Pitch From ‘Enterprise’ Producer

If I knew Mike, I’d definitely be giving notes.

That said. I get they want a West Wing vibe, but Bartlet family drama isn’t why folks tuned in. We were there for CJ, Toby and Josh as much as Jed. I’m not seeing “staffer energy” in the STU line up. If the show is “Star Trek United” they need more aliens, but not more Vulcans. Why can’t the adoptive son be an Andorian or a Tellerite? And if we’re fan servicing, why not Director of Federation Security Malcolm Reed, Foreign Secretary Hoshi Sato, Surgeon General Phlox or Chief of Staff Travis Mayweather
What has changed in 30 years that Archer’s going to start listening to Mayweather now? After ignoring his knowledge on the NX-01?

And why would Mayweather accept, when he could be happier teaching flight lessons at Starfleet Academy? Or being ambassador for Vega or Draylax? Or be a governor on an upstart colony like Izar or Tarsus IV?

Make it make sense to me.

It was a joke about fanservice.

Or there might actually be a good idea in there. Regardless if it's intended to be a joke.

As I said, make it make sense.

I’m not sure why it matters to you so much for other people to try and make sense of things you post. Is there a reason why you need validation for ideas for a show that will never happen?

The same reason why anyone needs validation. That somehow the sentiment is shared.

Is he trolling us or is something happening on the United front?

I can't see Paramount bringing back an aging Scott Bakula.

Archer is not Picard. No one watched him the first time. Why would they tune in NOW?

‘Trolling’ might be too harsh a word. ‘Being intentionally vague with my Instagram post so as not to look stupid later’ might be more apt?

I would watch it, and with much more enthusiasm than I would with Legacy. United would be a chance to tell a new type of story in the Star Trek universe, while Legacy would just be more of the same.

Sussman is not Aaron Sorkin.

Not everyone can make diplomacy entertaining.

It means they entertained him with their time of the day. That is it. I guess it does mean that United has been officially pitched.
Interesting that Kurtzman has also said that he is booked in at the end of February, so I guess that means Star Trek discussions are now on the table at Paramount.
