The biggest part of Episode 6 is the revelation that the whole Episode 3 rivalry and bullying really was just harmless pranking. At the end of the day, this episode goes to show they were Starfleet officers and able to be just as heroic as any other.

Which makes one of the bullies sacrificing himself for Caleb all the more powerful.

They literally got into a big bar fight the episode before though. lol

I get what they're going for and the whole "we're all on the same team when it matters" thing, but they didn't try to "humanize" them at all. Maybe they feel threatened because Starfleet Academy might replace them, or maybe Starfleet Academy took some of their "funding" (since I guess Latinum still exists) or something. But they're just dicks who wear black for 4 episodes.

That's possible, but they haven't really addressed that tension at all. Since the only class the two groups share is gym class, it's not even really clear why the two campuses need to be in the same location to the point where Darem feels the need to paint a line across the hall like he's in a sitcom.

I didn't look for these things to happen. They just did. I didn't care but certainly saw the rivalry and hijinks.
