It does seem the show is depicting the War College as Starfleet's militant side, as represented by the War College's Commander being a stereotypical stiff and rigid spot and polish military officer.
People often believe that, but given they used naval ranks, that rules out them being Starfleet Marines. If they were Marines, they'd have army ranks. Now it is true the guys wearing the blue turtlenecks in the Nimbus III raid in TFF were referred to as Marines in behind the scenes sources, though that never made it onscreen. The only canonical onscreen reference to Starfleet Marines is a computer graphic in Prodigy.
Critical Drinker's review of the first episode blew past SFA 4-day viewcount in hours.
Many, perhaps most, navies are called Marines in the native language.

He’s really not. He has many factual errors in his videos and a lot of biases that often show themselves. Hmmm…. Naaaah.
And again, it’s how the content is consumed. People who are actually going to watch SFA (STSA is the dumbest possible abbreviation for this show) are going to sit and watch it. People who listen to the Drinker are likely going to do other things while engaging with his content. Like I said, apples and oranges.

It's also amazing that someone can find out the exact viewing figures of something from a global streaming service to be able to make what is surely a genuine point and not just some futile attempt to rally hate for a show without any legitimate criticisms. No one would ever do that, right?
