Interesting that the YouTube premier is at midnight Eastern time.
I wonder if it will go live early on Paramount+ as well.

Edit: TrekMovie says it premiers on P+ at the same time

Looks like this is another US only deal, shows as "not available in your country" for me, kinda frustrating and not like its on a different network to P+ here either.
I can see it here in Canada, so it isn't just US only. Maybe North America only.

Shit hit the galactic fan. Not everyone is going to have easy access to things like replicators. Many colonies were left to fend for themselves, slave trade ran wild, pirate raids would have plundered much from undefended worlds.

Not to mention the colony worlds that elected to farm and grow their own food and rejected replicators by choice.

If it was the 24th century you might have an argument to make there.

But portable replicators are 700 year old technology at this point, so any place that has access to programmable matter would be able to wave a wand and whip one up. And even "The Colony" had access to that stuff.

Heck, in a time of post-scarcity in the late 23rd and early 24th centuries Picard's father railed against using technology in the home and that would include early food replicators. It's easy to imagine how few Federation citizens might have access to replicators in a post-Burn, devastated galaxy.

And how well did using that technology to repair the equipment for Tilly and Saru go for that Coridanite?

Too much self sufficiency was not tolerated, being useful to potential allies was not tolerated. Why would you let an isolated exploitable colony be able to run with replicators that can give them everything they need?

I'm sorry I know you were desperate to shit on a show that isn't out yet but at least come up with a quantifiable quibble.

Don't have lawyers in the future? Seems weird that a judge can just walk in and declare someone guilty and that is that.
Good point.

It went easily.

Was it ever mentioned when in relation to Disco S3-5 it takes place?
One assumes post season 5 since Reno serves on Discovery non stop throughout those seasons.

Also there was no academy at all until season 4 and Earth didnt rejoin the Federation until then either.
It went easily.

Equipment can only run so long as you have the resources to maintain it. Given the immense upheavals in the galaxy due to the Burn, it's easy to conjecture that things returned to a scarcity environment real quick when very few warp-capable ships were still around to make the trip from system to system.

:| the youtube premier is now region locked in Canada, it wasn't before.

however it's up on P+ so I can just watch it there

That's not how it worked.

Warp travel would have still been happening, just slower cause they would have been limited to fusion power instead of m/am.

Also, the Ferengi were able to keep a portable replicator working in a bronze age civilization, so try again.
