It occurred to me last night that if Generations plan for new uniforms had gone through, they'd been out soon enough to make the move to DS9 and VOY. But one of the points of new uniforms was so DS9 and VOY would have different uniforms to help with viewer distinction and recognition. So, were both shows going to get those uniforms before they were canceled at the last minute? Or would they've have given them to VOY but kept DS9 in their original uniforms?

Those look awful. Yeah they're hanging off mannequins and not in the best light still not a great design.(6:44 if not 7:22 gets to the official reason for being ditched. Personally, I'm not fond of the overtly-flappy lapels and I already miss the angled waistline. and, yeah, the tuck-in look alone would have prompted an emergency stop...
I'm glad those uniforms weren't used. The original DS9/VOY uniforms were better-looking and already served as a transition to the real-world post-TNG era. In a real sense, it worked out for the best because we eventually got the FC uniforms.

Ah, the limited edition "Tsunkatse"(sp) action figures?I have a rock.
Voyager was lost after DS9 had been on the air for more than a season, so it makes sense that the Voyager crew were wearing the same uniforms. What wouldn't have made sense would have been if the Voyager folks had suddenly switched to the newer gray uniforms (which the DS9 folks ended up doing).I will confess that I wasn't following all the series closely back then, but wouldn't it have made "canonical" sense for Voyager to be using outdated uniforms out in the wild as it were, while Deep Space Nine wore the latest upgrade? Seems as if they did it in reverse.

An argument could be made that once Voyager established contact with the AQ that maybe they should have switched uniforms at that point, but it's easy enough to say it would have been a relatively pointless use of limited resources or such.
They switched to those back in the second season. IIRC, the old props from TNG were wearing out so both Voyager and DS9 needed replacements, and everyone felt "we're building new props anyway, might as well update them."IIRC, VGR switched to the newer phaser and tricorder props before they contacted Starfleet in-universe. There was a fanwank that they already had the replicator patterns before they left and there was a set deployment date, so once that happened, all the new ones they made would be of the updated model.
I don't feel the need to fanwank every little decision made by the props department. Then, in the third season they switched to the new model of phaser rifle introduced in First Contact and continued using it in the fourth season before switching back to their own "compression" phaser rifles in the fifth season and keeping them for the remainder of the series. Curiously, DS9 only used the FC rifles exactly once, in the episode Empok Nor.
