A Question About Doctor Who on Amazon Prime Video

Since they're not super expensive I was thinking a about maybe buying some of the later seasons of New Who on Prime Video since we have no idea if, when, or where they'll be streaming again, but I was looking through the Matt Smith seasons, and I noticed that they don't include any of the Christmas Specials, or Time & Day of The Doctor. I tried looking for them separately and I can't find them that way either, but I find it hard to believe they aren't on Prime Video at all. Does anyone know where they are on there? I tried searching for Matt Smith Specials, and then just Day of The Doctor individually, and couldn't find them that way.

I recommend watching new Doctor Who on Hoopla. It's free with a library card, and they have the first four series. I'm sure they'll add more in the future. I opted for the blu ray set two years ago.

Otherwise, for classic, you can find those on YouTube as well as BritBox. I'm sure there are other free ad based services that have them as well.

I already finished watched Season 4 and the last Tenth Doctor Specials, so I'm good there. I forgot they were on Hoopla though, so I'll wait and see if they add the Matt Smith seasons. I've been using Hoopla for a while now for books and comics, but I haven't tried watching any shows on there yet. My only hesitation with Hoopla is, unless they're bonus borrows, you have to borrow every single episode individually, so I'll have to split the seasons over two or three months and that's only if I don't borrow anything else in that time.
Oh, and I've been watching Classic Who on Britbox for at least a couple of years now.

Classic Doctor Who is also available for free (on demand with commercials) on PlutoTV, and they've uploaded a lot of it to the "Classic Doctor Who" channel on youtube.

On Amazon Prime, the Christmas specials are organized into separate seasons of their own. For Matt Smith, they’re called Doctor Who: Christmas Specials and all 3 of his are grouped together in one season. For Peter Capaldi and Jodie Whittaker, each of their specials has a season of their own which can be found by searching the name of that special :)

Look out for the binge passes on Hoopla. This is how we're currently watching Hallmark Christmas movies. For one borrow, I get 7 days of Hallmark+, which I then streamcast from my laptop to my ROKU to watch the movies on my TV. It's also a good way to catch up on show like the Librarians, which is the closest you can get to a Doctor Who knock-off that I've seen.

I would suggest physical media over "buying" digital content since that's really an indefinite lease. And sometimes the price difference isn't huge.

Yeah, I'll keep an eye on the Binge Passes. Are they one borrow each, or are they bonus borrows?

OK, I found them now thank you. I saw those, but they have Jodie Whitakker's picture up for them, so I assumed those were just her specials.

You’re welcome! :) The way it’s laying out is definitely confusing and inefficient

Now I'm glad I held off and didn't buy any of Series 5, they just added all of the Matt Smith episodes to Hoopla.
