Looking at the NFL's X account's post on this topic, the following comments are quite interesting. Are all football fans in America this sexist?

Well it's not soccer, that's a different game. I'm sure there is a hefty percentage of users on NFL's X account that are sexist.
Online commenters are not a statistically representative sample of the population, since the selection is biased toward people more motivated to comment. In other words, they tend to be dominated by opinionated loudmouths. And bigots and extremists make a point of flooding online forums with their rhetoric to drown out opposing viewpoints, making it seem like they represent the majority when they're really the minority. It's the same dynamic you see in SF fandom where online comments or YouTube videos are dominated by haters and rage merchants even when a show or movie is actually quite popular. Just in general, it's usually best not to read the comments.
That said, football (which in this case is American football, a different game from association football/soccer) is perceived in the US as a very "masculine" sport, so the percentage of sexist attitudes among football fans is probably relatively high.

That's one of the reasons why I rank that movie as number 4 on my Thor rankings. It is still enjoyable, but I actually think that Dark World is still a better film. (Yes, I know it is not a popular opinion.)
Lots of sexism on the internet. Lots of everything, especially in comment sections. Granted these days who can tell how much of anything is coming from a real person vs bots.
Bots programmed for sexism?
Bots it seems are programmed to do nothing but say sexist and racist things in order to create conflict. That and they used to make content creators look like they are more popular than they are, were half of the likes,views or subscribers are just bots.
Seems like lots of it is coming from India. Apparently their is lots of money to be made from this stuff and of course governments find them useful as well. Makes you wonder just how much truth there is in this Dead Internet Theory you sometimes hear about.
