The Delta Flyers now covering DS9

Yeah on good episodes they often either misunderstand things, get hung up on minor issues or make ridiculous suggestions. Here they mostly avoided those pitfalls and instead pointed out clear flaws and made sensible suggestions as to what could have made it better.

Exactly. The episode was so dumb even the Delta Flyers hosts couldn't get it wrong.

Though I did find it amusing that, given they usually complain we don't see enough Cirroc they pretty much nothing positive to say about his role here.

Ha. True.

It's so frustrating that there are painfully few episodes that showcase Jake and yet Cirroc got stuck with this turd. And the best Jake episode of them all (The Visitor) barely has Cirroc in it at all!

Yeah, I dipped in again after a break and The Muse discussion was engaging and fun. Did feel Robbie and Terry went a bit overboard with the pearl clutching though; it’s a vampire story, of course it’s about manipulation. It’s kind of the whole point. Their concerns over Lwaxana’s treatment of Odo was also a little over sensitive. It was a sweet story and kind of elevates an otherwise crap episode a bit.

Next up is For The Cause,which I think is an excellent episode, great writing and performances. One of my favourite Sisko episodes. I’m all set for them to dislike it and find silly things to nitpick though. At least then I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they don’t.

Incidentally, Sisko’s short, sharp response to Eddington’s Federation-worse-than-Borg rant is one of the most badass few seconds of the entire franchise. It’s a wonder Sisko’s icy glare didn’t cause the viewscreen to explode. Love it.

(Edit; just remembered this episode has the Garak/Ziyal plot and I hate the implication there’s a romantic attraction between them because I can never see Ziyal, particularly the second actress, as much older than fourteen or fifteen. I’ll be joining in the pearl clutching for sure).

I know, right? Maybe we won’t hear the complaints at not enough Jake for a while. (Not that I don’t agree he deserved more material). Wait until they get to season seven and he barely utters five words all season.
