They could have established a link with the ship then (transporters/wormhole, etc.), and assigned them to a mission in the DQ.

I mean one where they can come and go between the DQ and the AQ.
Oh the irony, given the Legacy pitch is just more of the same shit from the Berman era, just in new uniforms.(The only thing that changes are the uniforms!)
By and large, I agree. It has to be something new.Erm, ‘Star Trek Origins,’ just like every other movie announcement we’ve heard for the last nine years, is the Trek version of the boy who cried wolf. Production was supposed to start on it in December 2024. It’s now October 2025, and nothing has happened with this. NOTHING. And nothing ever will.
And as far as President Archer? I also would rather have that than Legacy. But I’m not deluding myself into thinking that it’s going to happen. It just annoys me when these guys like Matalas, Goldsman, Sussman and the like try to make it sound like ‘if the fans just voice their wants, this show will happen!’ It’s complete and utter bullshit, and disingenuous to the poor saps who get deluded into thinking that’s true. Skydance didn’t just pay a shitload of money just to produce a tv show about an aging Jonathan Archer from a show that barely anyone watched and was considered a failure. They’re also not going to go back to the Kelvin Timeline, because that’s nine years out of the public consciousness. They’re going to make something new.
Deadline said:According to sources, Holland and her top programming executive, Jane Wiseman, EVP, Head of Originals for Paramount+, had been sending out feelers to the creative community about their interest in premium female-driven drama series to compliment Sheridan’s male-skewing slate, with female thrillers near the top of their wish list.

Not even standing sets will swing Skydance into making more of the same. It's just not a good selling point after a lengthy merger.
I'm leaning towards them cleaning house entirely, but some popular female characters might just make it to the new era, if that's what they're after.P+'s new CEO wants more female-headed dramas (Kirk, Spock, and Archer ain't gonna cut it):

We've got Starfleet Academy. We've got #StarTrekLegacy.

I think that a bunch of unused sketches for the NX-01 could be used to help round out the early Federation fleet.I think the John Eaves NX-01 concept could full that void rather nicely. In my own head-canon, the design is one of the new Warp Seven Beauties mentioned in TATV.

*Yes, I colorized the design with A.I.
ENT never really finished their story. They only finished a chapter of the story, and then got derailed by an uninspired TNG cameo. What for?
Enterprise died in 2005. Why resurrect the dead? Why bring in a creaking, 70-year-old Scott Bakula?
Fenris Ranger Seven was truer to Seven's character than being a Starfleet captian. Seven in Starfleet is a Janeway wish.President Archer is much more interesting than Captain Seven, especially given the setting. She was a much more interesting character in Picard S1 and 2 when she was a Ranger. Her as just another Starfleet Captain…meh.

I couldn't possibly agree more with this. Seven's role with Fenris, helping those who had no one else to help them, just as Janeway did with her, just felt so true to her character. Bringing her back into Starfleet was a massive disappointment and a step backwards in character development.Fenris Ranger Seven was truer to Seven's character than being a Starfleet captian. Same with Rios. Shaw was the final straw for the problematic return to Starfleet.I couldn't possibly agree more with this. There is nothing in those 10 episodes demonstrating this at all.I saw Shaw as a bureaucrat.
He liked the rank and the perks more than actually doing the job.

- He liked his Malbec and steak dinners.
- The Titan-A hardly ever went exploring (even though its mission was exploration).
Shaw was a coward. He shoved the bridge crew into his ready room (where they would've been ducks in a shooting gallery for Vadic and her crew).
