My full thoughts on Secret Invasion:
Although I no longer rank things, I have to reiterate my belief that despite online assertions to the contrary, the show is objectively on par, qualitatively, with one of the MCU's most generally praised projects: Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The cast was phenomenal from top to bottom, and the story revisited thematic elements from both TWS and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier while also serving as a solid 'interquel' to Captain Marvel and the best use of Fury that we've gotten in the MCU.

The show also has to be lauded for quickly raising the stakes by killing off firsf Maria Hill and then Talos.

The introduction and inclusion of Super Skrulls also really worked, as did the choice of characters whose DNA and powers went into the SS formula since the inclusion of power-sets from the likes of Groot, Cull Obsidian, and Captain Marvel gave the MCU's Super Skrulls the ability to mimic the powers of the Fantastic Four without those characters actually being around, which was a nice touch.

In closing, I stand by and double down on two things that I either just said or have been saying:
1. This show absolutely shouldn't have been moved out of its proper Chronological placement between She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel

2. Notwithstanding the loud online complaining, this show is on par, qualitatively, with stuff like Captain: The Winter Soldier and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and is going to be something that I hope gets more directly followed up on in the future (although I'll still be happy with it even if that doesn't happen).

It had a fine cast for the most part. A decent concept as a story idea IMO.They just didn't make it all come together.

Exactly. Could been a who can you trust spy thriller.

Yes. It's bizarre that they did a story about shapeshifting Skrull infiltrators who could be anyone, yet only kept one of the Skrulls' identities secret for any length of time. That's the most backward and ill-conceived approach to a Marvel story since Inhumans asked us to root for the elitist autocrats defending a race-based hierarchy over the populists trying to change it.

I'm far from the only person in the world who has a glowing opinion of Secret Invasion. In fact, I'd actually venture to say that I'm more likely in far more of the majority than the haters, loud though they may be, are.
I find that very, very hard to believe. You are literally the first person I have ever come across who actually has this kind of opinion of Secret Invasion.
Hell, I like it better than a lot of people, but even all I can say is that it's OK, and still at the very bottom of the MCU for me.
"Bad is a point of view".
Not really, there are objective standards that writing has to meet, and it's pretty easy to analyze a story to see if it fits those standards, and the general opinion of Secret Invasion is that it does not.

I know that I'm not the only person to feel positively about Secret Invasion because the hosts of the TV Podcast Industries Podcast Network all gave the show above-average grades, as did the majority of their listeners who provided feedback throughout the course of their episode-by-episode coverage.
