Spoilers Wednesday (Addams) Netflix Show

Are they now?
The people I talk to on social media are like that. Normally, on other teen shows, fans want the main girl to be with the most handsome guy on the show. But that wasn't the case with this show. Even in the first season, there was a huge fan base wanting a relationship between Wednesday and Enid. Then, when Xavier's portrayer turned out to be a stalker, they had to send the character away. Although the writers made Tyler the villain at the end of the first season, they wanted to write a Buffy-style show, so in season two interviews, they make it sound like Wednesday and Tyler are in love. Jenna Ortega also said in recent interviews that the show's scripts were written during filming, just like the scripts for Marvel movies are written during filming.

New episodes arrive this week. I'm debating if I want to rewatch the first four episodes, or just wait, watch the end of the season and then maybe in January watch Season 2 in it's entirety. I'm really hoping the final four episodes isn't just a duplicate of the end of season 1 and Wednesday and Tyler. I also am looking forward to seeing Lady Gaga, as she was promoted for this season.

Watched the first two episodes of this half. Let's just say (Hopefully I'm not spoiling much) that I really liked the Orphan Black-Ness of episode 6. Ortega and Myers did a hell of a job.

I'm not really liking the Tyler plot though. It kind of takes away from all the other interesting things going on.

I was blown away within seconds of their performances in that moment. They killed it throughout the whole episode. Arguably one of the best episodes of the whole show.

I also watched the first two episodes and largely enjoyed everything, particularly the reveals for a certain family, even if it meant that my theory about Frances O'Connor's was completely wrong. Alas.

I still don't trust Isadora. Regardless of the appearance of her good intentions for Enid, I don't trust her motivations. Or perhaps that's the trauma of Thornhill's actions last season talking. We'll see.

I adored Larissa as Wednesday's new spirit guide. Perfect choice. I can't wait to see more and whether she'll linger beyond this season (I doubt it).

Weems instantly made this season better. I love the chemistry between her and Wednesday.

Can someone tell me: Other than some bullying of the kids at summer camp in AFV, were the Addamses ever considered societal "outcasts" in any other film or TV version? My recollection is that they were usually thought of as extremely rich eccentrics and, if anything, got their collective butts kissed by "normies" because of their wealth.

Just watched episode 7. I think my main issue with this season is there are too many storylines to follow and it's making episodes just feel like there are a lot to unpack. I'm still entertained by it, but the stuff with Dort should have been introduced (interspersed) sooner and allow it to build to this climax rather than showing everything at once. Heck, I would have completely eliminated the Tyler/Hyde storyline and focused at the things exclusively at Nevermore (And still have the Gala). For that reason, the best thing about episode 7 was the dance which was incredible. Also, this show should win an emmy for best costume work because even that was great, and Lady Gaga contributed more in episode 7 with her new single than she did with the overhyped cameo in episode 6.

Finished the season. I still maintain what I said above about this season feeling overstuffed, but it was a very good finale with a twist I actually didn't see coming. It also helps that I've been wondering that specific question a lot lately (With the Addams Family franchise on the mind) so to see it in this show was something else. I'm looking forward to Season 3 and the different questions hopefully might be answered that were brought up in the finale here.

I imagine some people aren't going to like the revelation of Thing's mysterious origin. Not because of the origin itself (which I liked) but for simply answering that mystery at all. I don't have a problem with it because, much like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, every iteration in every media is going to have a different interpretation of the characters and I find that refreshing and revelatory. Besides, Thing reminds who they are regardless of the mystery and that matters the most to me.

Perhaps the season had a little too much going for it but I think everything played out well enough. I imagine a rewatch will demonstrate that each of the storylines were well laid out and I think that's especially true for Issac's story. I loved the tragedy of the Night family even if Isaac turned out to be coldhearted bastard, but really, we had plenty of forewarning from the onset.

I'm actually glad Dort's grand scheme was exactly that: A scheme. And such a perfect way to go out. They had to continue the Nevermore tradition! Now to speculate who (actor wise) will become fill the shoes of the principal next season.

I'm glad Agnes is finally find herself by becoming, in Enid's words, her own psycho. I know most people here haven't liked her but I've greatly enjoyed her creepy nature and I hope we continue to see the weird dynamic of the three young ladies (forgive me, Wednesday, musketeers!).

But in the end, Wednesday's and Enid's friendship has always been the best part of the whole show and I love the climax of this season hinges on that relationship. I cannot wait to see how Wednesday is able to track down her (yes!) best friend and save her.

Lastly, I was wrong about the identity of Frances O'Conner's character but I'm glad that I was right that Ophelia is indeed alive. I just didn't expect where she was...or what her intentions appear to be. I can only hope and pray Carol Kane plays her. :D

Sometime next year I'm planning to rewatch the season in full and that might help things a bit. Right now it had the issue of half the season broken up by a month but even just on these 4 episodes alone there was a lot going on. Still pretty enjoyable though but I like the first season better.

I watched and liked the second season. I hope after everything that happened, the writers don't write a relationship between Wednesday and Tyler, even though they constantly say they want to do it in interviews.
