I still want to see some of the newer characters they have come back, like Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, and Monica. I hope they don't get abandoned for this reboot. There was some good stuff there that should be paid off down the road.

Kevin Feige also mentioned that the MCU will be reset after 2027, and that they will create a new X-MEN cast with new actors, and eventually a new Tony Stark and a new Steve Roger will be chosen.

My take is, why do we need a new Steve Rogers or Tony Stark when we've got Sam Wilson and Riri Williams? Not to mention all the other young heroes just getting started. I'd rather see a superhero universe just continue moving forward rather than constantly reset the same old characters. There was a time when comics generally did move forward -- the old X-Men, Avengers, Teen Titans, etc. gave way to new characters and the original characters moved forward in their lives and situations. But then new creators came along who reset everything to the way it was when they were reading comics as kids, and we got stuck in a perpetual loop. I don't want to see the MCU end up that way.

Sam Wilson and especially Riri WIlliams are not nearly as popular as Steve Rogers and Tony Stalk are but recasting them is also a mistake. Downey Jr and Evans are tow iconic in the roles. He is underestimating how important the actors were in making those characters great.

Do movies about.

Spider-Man
Silver Surfer(Norrin Radd)
Blade
Dr Strange
Thor
Wanda( Back from the Dead)
Ghost Rider
Squirrel Girl
Beta Ray Bill
Black Cat

Not counting of course the X-Men and Fantastic Four movies.

The MCU needs to be reset for it to truly recover. I clearly predicted when Endgame came out that the MCU would reset at some point, sometime in the mid-2030s, but my guess is they'll do it sooner. When you're doing so many projects, a reboot is inevitable.

Unsurprisingly, that's almost entirely clickbait since Feige's comments don't really reveal anything we didn't already know about the plot of the film. The one interesting tidbit is that Destin has seven different iconic covers on his wall that he's planning to recreate so it'll be fun trying to catch them (and hopefully aren't too obvious).

I love these actors. But if this series is going to continue for a long time, recasting the characters and actors is inevitable.

I agree and will add that people don't want to see new actors in those roles, so recasting is not going to resolve anything for Marvel. Chris Evans' Cap is still alive in the MCU as far as we know, and there is precedent for de-aging the character in recent comics.

In the comics there was a soft reboot after the Secret Wars story line. The Fantastic Four and the X-Men would be able to join the main MCU without changing events of what has happened before (much).

Tony Stark and Iron Man were barely b-listers when Iron Man came out. Public knowledge of them was secondary to what made the first film such a success, i.e. Downey's performance and Favreau's directing.

There's no reason Sam Wilson and Riri Williams can also be standouts as long as they get the right material to do so. Brave New World was an absolute mess and none of that had to do Mackie's performance or the public's knowledge of Sam Wilson. Ironheart is a solid show that suffers from being lost in the mix of TV shows that the public has less interest in and may ultimately not get the second season that it needs to properly fly (pun intended).

I guess as someone who has come to some of these films late, I have a more fresh mind about them than others, but I just want to know how they will be paid off, or if they will or not. For example, The Eternals ended with three of the Eternals being taken to be judged by Arishem. They save the world and now have to face judgement about it because they went against the prime celestrial. I'm curious to know what that result would be, but I'm disappointed we will probably not get it. If the MCU gets rebooted we definitely will not get it. Likewise with Kate Bishop and Hawkeye. Hawkeye was actually my favorite of the Disney+ shows and I like Stienfeld. I was excited to see what she would do as the new MCU version of Arrow. Same with Ms Marvel. I love Vellani's performance and I enjoy that character. It would be nice if this reboot would include some of those characters, but they probably won't. That means we will be a perpetrual loop where only some characters are brought back and we can't meet new ones. I get the need to simplify things a bit and I guess it's the difficulty of having this big universe and not wanting to leave people behind, but maybe the MCU needs to splinter off and they use Disney+ to have some of it and the theaters to have another part. They used to do that with Agents of Shield and Winter Soldier, or the Arrowverse and the Justice League era of DC. Maybe the MCU can have it's version of the Arrowverse and make that young avengers show for Disney+ and reboot the rest for the big screen. I wouldn't mind having another Arrowverse type era again. It might have gone bad, but I remember that time fondly.

Maybe but it's to soon. Look how long it to for someone to finally find a Superman that people in good numbers embrace that isn't Christopher Reeve. Batman I admit has gone through several popular Batman's but I also think the Batman character might be the most popular comic book character of them all. Iron Man and Captain America were sort of second rate until the MCU came along.

I should also not that two movies I forgot to list is we need another Black Panther, only in this case they do need to recast. Also another Shang-Chi movie.

What Kevin Feige calls a reset could be similar to what James Gunn did with the new DCU. I mean, I think they'll change the X-MEN, find a new Tony Stark and Steve R., and continue with the old cast.

IMO they don't even need a new Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. The true reset might be that X-Men is returning to it's status as Marvel's number 1 big thing other than Spiderman. Fantastic Four might be popular as well but from what I understand they became less popular in modern times in the comics. Everything else is sort of the B-Team.

Which if true just means they should focus almost on all new characters or characters we haven't seen in the MCU and your recasting needs to make sense like with Black Panther and Blade and I could also see them going with a new Hulk, which I think people would be fine with. Maybe Spider-Man also because Spider-Man is sort of like Batman in that the character is popular enough on it's own right to handle new actors in the role. Dr Strange,Thor and Wanda could basically be your real holdovers from the old MCU so you still have a taste of the old days.

I don't mind recasting characters; that's just part of how acting works. It turned out very well for Rhodey, and it worked well enough for Thunderbolt Ross. I care more about the actual storytelling than about what actors are performing the stories. And I don't want the storytelling to go artificially backward when there's still so much untapped potential in the new characters. We got complete arcs for Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. They were satisfying. I see no point in revisiting them, especially if it takes up space that could've been devoted to newer characters that deserve more focus.

Not gonna touch the monumental stupidity that is the idea of unnecessarily rebooting this franchise in 2 years.
