Cue the reboot
Kevin Feige also mentioned that the MCU will be reset after 2027, and that they will create a new X-MEN cast with new actors, and eventually a new Tony Stark and a new Steve Roger will be chosen.![]()
Marvel Plans to Recast the X-Men and (Eventually) Tony Stark After ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ But ‘Reboot Is a Scary Word,’ Says Kevin Feige
Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige confirmed that, following “Avengers: Secret Wars,” the company will recast the X-Men and eventually characters like Tony Stark.variety.com
He wasn't that direct.eventually a new Tony Stark and a new Steve Roger will be chosen.
The MCU needs to be reset for it to truly recover. I clearly predicted when Endgame came out that the MCU would reset at some point, sometime in the mid-2030s, but my guess is they'll do it sooner. When you're doing so many projects, a reboot is inevitable. My take is, why do we need a new Steve Rogers or Tony Stark when we've got Sam Wilson and Riri Williams? Not to mention all the other young heroes just getting started. I'd rather see a superhero universe just continue moving forward rather than constantly reset the same old characters. There was a time when comics generally did move forward -- the old X-Men, Avengers, Teen Titans, etc. gave way to new characters and the original characters moved forward in their lives and situations. But then new creators came along who reset everything to the way it was when they were reading comics as kids, and we got stuck in a perpetual loop. I don't want to see the MCU end up that way.
Unsurprisingly, that's almost entirely clickbait since Feige's comments don't really reveal anything we didn't already know about the plot of the film. The one interesting tidbit is that Destin has seven different iconic covers on his wall that he's planning to recreate so it'll be fun trying to catch them (and hopefully aren't too obvious).![]()
‘Spider-Man Brand New Day’s Story and Punisher’s Role in the Film Revealed by Kevin Feige

I love these actors. But if this series is going to continue for a long time, recasting the characters and actors is inevitable.Sam Wilson and especially Riri WIlliams are not nearly as popular as Steve Rogers and Tony Stalk are but recasting them is also a mistake. Downey Jr and Evans are tow iconic in the roles. He is underestimating how important the actors were in making those characters great.

What Kevin Feige calls a reset could be similar to what James Gunn did with the new DCU. I mean, I think they'll change the X-MEN, find a new Tony Stark and Steve R., and continue with the old cast.Maybe but it's to soon. Look how long it to for someone to finally find a Superman that people in good numbers embrace that isn't Christopher Reeve. Batman I admit has gone through several popular Batman's but I also think the Batman character might be the most popular comic book character of them all. Iron Man and Captain America were sort of second rate until the MCU came along.
I should also not that two movies I forgot to list is we need another Black Panther, only in this case they do need to recast. Also another Shang-Chi movie.
I agree and will add that people don't want to see new actors in those roles, so recasting is not going to resolve anything for Marvel. Chris Evans' Cap is still alive in the MCU as far as we know, and there is precedent for de-aging the character in recent comics.
