I saw a behind the scenes clip on Instagram and much like BB8 from The Force Awakens, HERBIE is a fully animatronic robot that was on set the entire time, allowing the cast to interact with him.

If we want to get realistic, armadillos are the closest thing to...The Thing. And they can have hair on their armor, though more properly, it's patchy hair growing between their armor:

So The Thing should have a nasty, patchy beard which only grows between the cracks.

The guy who co-wrote Man of Steel/Batman v Superman...

In other words, someone who participated in some of the best superhero movies ever made..

Totally missing everything that people like about the character

A trailer is not the entire film, so you are not basing an opinion on anything concrete.

while taking the angsty angle that honestly hasn't been more then a background element of Thing for decades and making it his main characteristic

This is a first FF/MCU film (hence that "first" part of the title, in case you missed that), so the characters' personalities should track with 1961-66 (roughly), instead of any contemporary characterizations. In other words, "angsty" Thing is the correct character trait for this film Thing.

They want to sale toys to middle age men who won' take their HERBIE toy out of the box. :)

You are not kidding!

He also wrote the entire Batman Begins trilogy

Co-wrote, and that's the only golden trilogy of single character superhero films to date.

Off-hand comments from 30 years ago shouldn't bar anyone from getting a job, if that was the case then James Gunn shouldn't have been given the reigns of DC.

Quoted for truth regarding Gunn.

Goyer's more hits than misses, and it's not like Marvel has better writers nowadays.

Or several years back, as well.

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy will be back in theaters this fall, including the first ever theatrical screening of the second film's extended cut.

Great news! Film's best Spider-Man returns! I look forward to seeing SM2's extended cut in theaters.

:guffaw:

Well thats cool. I'm not a big fan of Herbie, I'm pretty sure he only exists because of that cartoon that couldn't use Human Torch, but having a physical prop for a character like that is always a good thing.

I like what he says about starting to read in the middle of the script and seeing if the ending works first before going back to the beginning.

I can guess what you said and what racist words you used by looking at RDJ's previous conversations with Latin artists and behind the scenes footage of Sherlock Holmes movies on the internet. RDJ's racist attitudes towards blacks and Latinos have been revealed before. For example, Rihanna was joked about being beaten by her ex-boyfriend at the Oscars years ago. No one laughs and applauds, but she did. Then when she saw that you weren't applauding anyone, she stopped applauding.
WTF?

Years ago, when RDJ was filming Sherlock Holmes, there was a video that was secretly filmed behind the scenes during a chase scene and shared online about an "extra" who was unknown as being Arab or Latino. RDJ was talking to Guy Ritchie and Jude Law and made racist comments about the "extra" in the video. That video was posted online but not talked about. A few years ago, he made racist comments about a famous Spanish singer who was criticizing Marvel movies. The Hollywood Report made the news but it wasn't talked about either. The Rihanna beating thing is a 15-year-old story.

Are you talking about this?

That and his supposed snub of Ke Huy Quan are the only two moments I recall, although it wouldn't surprise me if he did something back in his drug days.

Sure.
