I don't think this has anything to do with Netflix. Netflix probably only got the rights to broadcast the first two seasons in certain countries. In order to make a third season, they had to get the rights all over the world. And I don't think there was a deal for a third season. That's why they added that last scene, I think.Yes.
Its fate was sealed the moment it went to Netflix. Anything of quality gets shot in the head by Netflix.
Futurama returned after 9 years. X-Men returned after 27 years! I wouldn't say that the fate of the series is "sealed", only that it won't be coming back for the time being.
Yes. Too many TV series go on way too long. I'm a big fan of limited series and/or shows that last five years or less, if they're done well of course. Unfortunately sometimes you're left wanting more. But then again, that's not always a terrible feeling. Also, the end of season 2 ends the children's arcs that started in the very first episode. They have reached their goals, they escaped Tars Lamora, improved and joined Starfleet. More would risk to be a repetition (if not handled carefully, as the Hageman's likely would but alternative showrunners might not) of similar beats (Dal again having to mature?) or to evolve into a next-next-generation. Why the latter would be fun, it wouldn't really be the original premise anymore.

So Paramount + took it off as a tax write off and now it will be taken off netflix. By this time next year the only way to watch the series is through physical media. I knew they would be a collectors item one day.![]()

There is a possibility that the deal will be extended. Old Star Trek shows are still airing on Netflix almost all over the world except the US.So Paramount + took it off as a tax write off and now it will be taken off netflix. Considering how prodigy has been treated I'm not optimistic. There is a possibility that the deal will be extended. Old Star Trek shows are still airing on Netflix almost all over the world except the US.
