Plus, after the last Kelvin movie, if fans want that, a whole new series of movies with a whole new cast/set of characters not from the existing canon.

I was really excited for more Kelvin films (and more Jaylah) but that was 6-8 years ago. If it comes it comes and I will see it. I just wish they used the momentum from Beyond and gave us another film. Dragging their feet on a story and multiple directors didn't help matters.

Good news is, PRO can still fulfill its purpose as a port of entry for kids into the Trek-verse, as long as it's available to stream somewhere.

But the focus always remained on the kids. Janeway was merely a side character. That's the kind of fan service I would prefer. I want new stories with new crews. Prodigy did the sequel thing the right way.

I agree, I wish the Star Wars sequel did it the same way. For example, Rey being the padawan of Luke and was send on her first solo mission.

And, that would have honored the original character. Especially if we saw a Luke like we saw in the "Mandalorian" season finale: a Jedi master at the height of his power.

I purchased Seasons 1 and 2 on Fandango (formerly known as Vudu). A young family member got hooked that way!

I guess I still maintain the faint hope that the new Paramount/Skydance/yadda yadda yadda leadership, if being Trek fans as has been rumored, might see fit to revive Prodigy someway, somehow, at some point. Although I'm not sure if I want to see it without the Hageman brothers involved.

I'd love to see something that gives us an outright Lower Decks/Prodigy crossover.
