Spoilers Andor - Season 2

I'm having a chat somewhere else where people are lauding Andor for being disconnected from fan-service and canon-fetishism and Glup Shittos, and I'm this close to pointing out Saw Gurrera (cartoon character) and Mon Mothma (prequel-movie deleted scene) are both Glup Shittos.
Feel free to "point that out." You would be wrong to do so.

Andor has done a lot of (sometimes subtle, sometimes not) continuity/fanservice: name-dropping sequel trilogy planets, featuring spaceship types introduced in the sequel trilogy, the Bryar pistol, Luthen's artifacts, etc. It's name-dropped the Rakata (from KOTOR) twice, referenced Mimban, and featured a handful of already-known alien races. It's flirted with Force healing and included a TIE Avenger prototype. In its most recently aired episode it made sure to fit into the previously established continuity of the Rebels cartoon.

Also I don't see how Mon Mothma in any way qualifies as a Glup Shitto! She was in ROTJ, not to mention Rogue One.

Something else that occurs to me is that everything that's happening in this show is leading up to a movie that showed the Ghost as an Easter egg, verbally gave Hera Syndulla an Easter egg shout out, and had a cameo appearance from Chopper himself!

How is it that K2SO went down under a single blaster shot in Rogue One (and an identical model was taken out with one shot by Jyn Erso on Jedha), but survived about a hundred blaster shots unscathed on Ghorman, and had to be run over to be stopped?

I got into Star Wars with the original trilogy, but the novels and the comics are what kept my interest up through the '90s. However, unlike many, I never really held to the notion that this was all "canon set in stone". My first thought about hearing the specifics of Lucasfilms levels of tiered-canon, was that, "Okay these things are canon until contradicted by something in the 'A' tier. Therefore, not set in stone canon." When Clone Wars contradicted the EU novels In regards to the Mandalorians, I was not surprised in the slightest. I wasn't pleased, but I wasn't surprised either.

And I held no illusions whatsoever that if we were to ever see more content with the original trilogy characters, that any of the stuff from the novels or comics would be adhered to in the slightest.

The games never even entered my radar with the exception that I knew that there was a game companion to the Shadows of the Empire novel and comic.

Side note: What the hell is a 'Glut Shitto?"

It's from a viral Tumblr post. It's a popular character from the Star Wars expanded universe (basically anything that isn't a movie or live-action show) who's obscure to the more casual fandom, and who is going to be the focus of a live-action Star Wars production.

In Jyn's case you have a point, but K-2SO absolutely did not go down from a single blaster shot.

I'll take cartoon characters over whatever this is.

An awesome beard, that's what.

I love Halo gaming. MCC is my go-to online game and to me Halo is always going to be 99% a gaming controller, an FPS perspective and friends and complete strangers taking shots at me on a big map. But I like the Paramount+ series and respect it for what it is, and it only enhances the wider Halo universe for me.

Yeah, some fans complain the series doesn't jibe with the games, but I'm not one of them. I don't expect any video game to be a perfect companion piece for a movie or TV show or vice versa.
