Season 3 First Look

Or just use your imagination.
Hey, now, that's asking a bit much of the Trekkie Fundamentalist crowd. The Word of Gene must be taken as it was written.

Great, some more terrible comedy episodes, and a fucking holodeck episode (aka the worst type of recurring Star Trek episode). I bet we'll have another wacky Spock episode too, that is if he can stop messing around with the human woman he 100% barely knows in TOS but can't stop interacting with in this show (seriously, Spock and Chapel were barely acquaintances in Prime Timeline TOS, much less former fuck buddies).

SNW is continuing to be a show with a handful of legitimately great episodes a season and then a bunch of episodes that are just rancid. They write episodes like they have an older Trek's 26 episode season to fill so they let some stinkers get through, but with literally less then half that amount of episodes. I can't wait until they bring back ferengi episodes (even though Starfleet didn't officially meet the Ferengi until TNG, but when have SNW writers evere cared about continuity, or the franchise in general).
You're quite welcome to your wrong opinion.

Nah.

Must we always do this? Can we just skip the next 2 days worth of arguing over this same argument? In the end, CBS/Paramount owns Star Trek and they say it's all the prime timeline. Does everything line up perfectly? No. But that can be said of every series. TOS doesn't line up with TNG perfectly. TNG doesn't line up with DS9 perfectly. VOY doesn't line up...... you get the idea. After 60 years, it's amazing that things line up as well as they do!

Its been 2 days, can we argue now? :D

They say its the prime universe, yes, but then their storytelling blatantly says the events are different (Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow), and ENT's entire existence has a timewar baked into it, and occurs after a blatant time travel movie introduces wrinkles (First Contact, Borg drone.) I just don't feel that it is that simple of a thing to say "CBS says...!"

That's the only thing that actually means anything. The timeline is what they say it is. What ever changes they introduce becomes the timeline.

I've never said its not the same continuity. Its actually kind of great to be able to watch in production order, because the entire rebooted time line happens after FIrst Contact, and everything is still narratively sequential. But I will argue and die on the hill that this is not leading into TOS that started it all in any way shape or form. Something similar, sure; something that eventually leads to Insurrection, Nemesis and Picard, and latter half Voyager, sure. Everything after First Contact is in the rewritten timeline. TOS, not so much.

Nah.

Encounter at Farpoint says "hi."

Nope. Thats part of the original timeline, that stretches from TOS to First Contact. Thats why all the references to the 22nd century and their technology in early TNG no longer match what we see later on.
