I don't get it either. Perhaps some fans aren't allowed to want the shows they'd enjoy?People like their adventures. Why not?

If you want steak, then you want steak. There's no shame in it.This is an odd thing that seems to prevalent nowadays.
Some Fans: "I like this thing. I would like to see more of this thing I like"
Other Fans: "NNNOOOOOO HOW DARE YOU! THE THING SHOULD BE SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN THE THING YOU LIKE!"
If I go into a Steakhouse, I want steak. If the server delivers sushi to my table, i'd be like... "I came to a steakhouse, I wanted steak.", but then the chef comes out and is like, "Oh my god, steak again? You want more steak? You already had steak. Have something different.", but i'm like... "Look, I like sushi well enough, but I came to a steakhouse and I wanted steak. That's why i'm here.", and then the chef calles me an idiot or toxic or something for wanting the thing I came for and not something totally different.

Unless you go into a vegan restaurant, of course.![]()
I've given up wanting what I would enjoy. Bring told I'm wrong has that effect.I don't get it either. Perhaps some fans aren't allowed to want the shows they'd enjoy?
You shouldn't give up. There's bound to be someone who agrees with you.I've given up wanting what I would enjoy. Bring told I'm wrong has that effect.
I'd rather others get what they want at this point. If it means more TNG style Picard shenanigans then so be it.

And yet which one is a film being talked about? It's kind of funny, because like, I kind of agree and am in the same boat... but... with the opposite outcome.
I've given up on wanting more TNG style Picard shenanigans and have just accepted that we get more Discovery and Section 31 now.
And yet which one is a film being talked about?
Um...I thought Patrick Stewart was talking about it?A Picard film isn't being talked about. *WE* are talking about a Picard film.
What is actually happening at Paramount? SNW Season 3, Discovery-related. Starfleet Academy, Discovery-related. We just got Section 31, Discovery-related.
Picard, done. Lower Decks, cancelled. Prodigy, cancelled.
The 25th century/TNG+ continuation arm of the Star Trek Universe appears to be completely dead. There is only the Discovery arm.
Um...I thought Patrick Stewart was talking about it?
Pike existed before Discovery so I only kind of see SNW as Discovery adjacent. People are no longer talking about Section 31, a project greenlit far before other things.
I doubt it's completely dead.

No clue. It might be. Prodigy was. It's like saying that since The Doctor is on Starfleet Academy, it's basically a continuation of Voyager, not Discovery...
Only in that they are in the Star Trek universe but SNW is completely separate from Discovery in my mind. Like TOS and TNG.mean yeah Pike existed before Discovery, but SNW is very much in the "Discovery Universe".
Paramount has a dumpster fire of finances going on. They're focused on survival and carrying forward what projects were greenlit. There is no indication Paramount has any interest in doing so.
There could still be something on the horizon.

After the merger I expect a 25th century project.
Not really, other than casting. The bridge is different, uniforms are different, crew is massively different. It feels as connected as TOS and TMP, with characters who have no history suddenly having huge chunks of dialogue.really don't see a drastic difference between DSC and SNW. SNW is quite literally a spin-off of Discovery, using characters that may not have originated on Discovery, but the versions were are seeing did. Pike is DSC Pike. Spock is DSC Spock. The Enterprise is DSC Enterprise.
Or it just stays dead. End the bitching. With a change in management, I sort of expect a dead period and then... yet another return/reboot for the TOS era.

In name only.TOS and TMP were directly connected. Not sure what the argument is there. Yes, TMP was a direct continuation of TOS.
And of the Cage. So, again, related but not really to my mind.SNW is... quite literally and objectively... a spinoff of Discovery. That's not really a point of debate.
