Spoilers Andor - Season 2

The "kid targeted" media has given some of the best stuff in the franchise, and most of it is at least TV-PG, which would mean it's gear towards an older audience. Kids show's are either TV-Y, which is usually geared towards younger pre-school age kids or Y-7 which is geared towards older kids.
It honestly kind of irritates me when write off anything animated as being for kids, we've moved well beyond that at this point. I think at this point most people would probably agree that things like Family Guy or South Park are definitely not for kids.
And as a fellow fan, I feel bad for people with that attitude because they're missing out on some absolutely fantastic shows, that have added a ton of great to stuff to the franchise.

That was before Lucas' brain started eating itself.

1999: "I'll have a kid main character, that way kids will be into my movie"

:brickwall:

Most of Star Wars is "for kids" by design, and that's how it should be. That the rest of us get to enjoy it too now that we're all grumpy and grown up (chronologically, at least) is just an added bonus!

So far 'Andor' is pretty much the only thing they've done that's specifically for an adult audience, and even then it's pretty mild in terms of what usually passes for "mature" content. It's age appropriateness is mostly just down to tone, pacing and subtlety of storytelling.

So many people in other places thinking Dedra is being choked. I doubt it, probably just a panic attack or something

She might also have been trying to tear her uniform off. I dunno, I am very much adding 2+2 and somehow getting 175 but she doesn't look happy in either the first or second trailers and in that poster is not wearing her uniform. Is there any chance we might see someone unexpected joining the Rebellion?

I don't mean in a random "And then General Hux changed sides" kind of way, but in a slow burn, organic way as someone slowly comes to change their outlook (or just as easily someone is slowly turned by the Rebellion. It isn't beyond Luthern to blackmail someone into working for him. Plenty of double agents in history have only betrayed their side because the opposition had enough dirt on them that they had no choice)

Side note regarding Andor:

Does anyone else think Disney missed the boat with Elizabeth Dulau? I mean, have you seen anyone except for maybe Millie Bobbie Brown who resembles a young Leia as much as she does? Think what they could have done with her and Sebastian Stan as Luke- and that's even before we get into discussions about deepfake technology and what is possible with that.

Check our her likeness from Andor here- is that Leia or what?

I actually thought he was saying Leia at first ( it's Stellan after all ) but then I was like, no way.

Kleya has too much Amanda Waller energy going on to be Leia. ( Not to mention that "Kleya" would be a stupefyingly terrible cover name for someone named Leia. )

The more I watch the trailers, the more I think Cassian will indirectly cause the Ghorman Massacre.

Luthen is going to send him to the planet to do something to stoke the flames so the people there start protesting, which will then lead to the imperial crackdown

Did anyone else think Krennic was going to say "Resistance is futile" or was that just me? :shifty:

I fear you might be right now that you've mentioned it...

Yeah, it looks more like she's pissed or upset and trying to open up the neck of her uniform to either loosen it or take it off. I definitely expect at least or two twists or shocks, like her changing sides or Cassian causing the Gorman Massacre before the season is over.
I'm very curious what ends up happening to Luthen, he's a huge part of the early days of the Rebellion, but we've never seen or heard anything about him outside of Andor. You'd think he would have shown in up as member of the Rebel leadership on Yavin in Rogue One or aboard Home One in Return of the Jedi if he was still around.

Wow, she does look a lot like a young Carrie Fisher, even more than Billie Lourd does.

I'm very curious what ends up happening to Luthen, ....
They telegraphed that a while ago:
...my sacrifice? I’m condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them. I burn my decency for someone else’s future. I burn my life, to make a sunrise that I know I’ll never see. No, the ego that started this fight will never have a mirror, or an audience, or the light of gratitude. So what do I sacrifice?
Everything!

We know by design, these are not the heroes who get to go on, to the fanfare, parade, the kiss from the princess, the medal, the reward, or the recognition.

This is certainly Luthern's playbook. When the Empire cracked down after the heist in Aldhani he said that's exactly what he wanted them to do.

Oh yeah, I didn't really put that together.
