The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

Candidates: Apple, Netflix and Skydance, if Netflix buys Bourne it will be shit. And it may not make a sequel or a season. Apple can make a decent movie or series. But it doesn't have a box office hit. Also, streaming loses $1 billion every year and its future in streaming is uncertain. Skydance can make a good movie. If Paramount merges, they can also make a good series for Taylor Sheridan. I've never watched a Taylor Sheridan series before but I'll definitely watch this.
Re the Netflix thing - they recently aired Black Doves, one of the best spy/espionage shows I’ve seen in ages.

I've felt very spoiled lately with The Day of the Jackal, The Agency and Black Doves
I’m about 3 or 4 episodes into The Agency. I’m quite enjoying its slow burn but I fear that I sense my wife getting a bit restless with it and that I shall soon be told that I can finish it on my own.

It is very slow burn but worth it.

I'm debating whether to try the French original (to be honest the only thing putting me off is that there's five seasons' worth!)

The streaming possibilities:

Apple TV+ -- iBourne
Disney+ -- Jason: Bourne Again
Peacock -- Law & Order: Bourne
Prime Video -- The Bourne Delivery
Netflix -- Anthony and Joe Russo get $200 million to make a bad, soulless movie that looks like it cost $40 million
Paramount+ -- whatever Taylor Sheridan wants to do with Bourne he gets
Max -- David Zaslav shelves it after filming is completed to use as a tax write off

One's got to love Peak TV. We're truly at the epitome of all this Streaming business! :D

Twisters was a hit, so of course the studio wants to make another one. No word on if anyone from the last movie in front of or behind the camera would be returning.

I feel like they missed out on the chance of connecting the movie to the original one by making the young woman in Twisters be the daughter of Helen Hunt's character from the original.

First we had collecting data to study tornadoes, then we had trying to stop a tornado. I'm going to call it; the third movie will be about someone using the heroes' research to try to create a tornado as a targeted weapon.

Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal's Othello on Broadway might be getting a movie version.

"Hollywood is running out of ideas remaking that Julia Stiles and Josh Hartnett movie!"

"Hollywood is running out of ideas and now they're trying to turn a board game into a movie!"

To fling cows? :D

Can just imagine the dialogue... "Get back down here! We're got a problem. I don't know how they're doing it, but someone seems to have created a tornado, and they're targeting cows..."

"Right, sure, I'll just call the meteorologist and ask them if anyone's stolen their weather-making machine..."

During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.
