I'm pretty much losing interest day by day in CBSTrek. To say that ten episodes of SNW for the entire year 2025 isn't quite fulfilling my Star Trek need is a woeful understatement.

I admit I don’t really understand the continuing interest in the Romulan War — which I used to share, but that was at least three onscreen Trek-universe wars ago. One smart thing Babylon 5 did was to imply everything we needed to know about at least two wars that happened after the main run of the show — the Telepath War and the Drakh War — without ever having to portray them.

Not to mention that any portrayal of the Romulan War produced now will just look like any generic space battle that we would have seen in DSC/SNW/PIC.

Entirely true.

Though I’m also just not crazy about making things “just because”, without a compelling reason. (Like outside of Trek, I don’t see the point in a new third version of Battlestar Galactica. The remake was worthwhile because the BSG story had never gotten an ending. Now it has. So why bother doing another?)

(Yes, I realize remakes can be worthwhile for their own sake; but I honestly think this is fairly rare.)

A reboot.

I would like is something set a century after the Dominion War. With no Romulan Supernova, and no Star Trek Online, no Star Trek Picard being considered part of this Universe.

My POV is that anything set after DS9 is non-canon, and it would be a nice, fresh, blank start. The Dominion War is a century ago. Our loved characters are now historical figures.

Now, a century later, the name Enterprise hasn't been used in nearly a century now. It's time for a new crew. A new ship. NCC-1701 F now begins its 5 year journey to the far reaches of the Galaxy, past the borders of the Federation, beyond all known Space.

The Dominion remains elusive. Nearly a century after the war has ended, they've been more or less been playing the same role the Romulans have had in the beginning of DS9.

The Cardassians are now allies of the Federation, with the new Enterprise being a joint creation between the Federation and the Cardassians, with a Cardassian Captain.

The Klingons and Romulans are at peace with eachother and the Federation.

To be perfectly honest, I’m not hankering after another Trek series. At least not yet.

I’ve liked most, but not all of, the NuTreks to varying degrees…but I’m kind of burned out on it. So much content, and I don’t feel much of it has left an impact on me. I don’t feel the need to rewatch any of the post-DS9 shows. I prefer simply sticking with my preferred era, which is TOS to DS9, with a particular emphasis on TOS.

I’m not feeling much inspiration or creativity in the franchise these days. So I’m really not particularly excited about what might be ahead right now.

Of the choices, "Other" as in a single ship and crew having adventures. Would want them not being the center of galactic events and more isolated explorations. No big wars, no big politics.

"Romulan War/Birth of the Federation." The time period of post Earth/Romulan war would be interesting. They could do flash backs to what the crews experiences during the war without focusing on the war in general. Majority of the near-magic technology would be missing from the show. There would little, almost none, of birth of the Federation, which I would find boring.
