Alex Kurtzman on streaming movies and the future of Trek

I just know I'll enjoy 'Code of Honor' more for getting its stuff across better anyway.

They can’t all be hits, though I imagine every single piece of Trek media has someone out there who is an incredible fan. Even Star Trek: Insurrection has fans.

Oh I'm sure. Whether it be some consideration for the writing or just the nostalgic beat of something. I'll even admit that I do enjoy Insurrection, which is apparently a rare opinion most of the time. I also like TFF, which might just point to some of my tastes sucking.
I may have gotten lost somewhere but you're define your consideration of bad writing by quote marking something you made up to prove what point?
The similarity in terms of tone. Though for something bad in my opinion, I can actually give that entire "Godsend or God's End" back and forth that wastes time and sucks the seriousness out of the scene for no reason outside of jamming a useless joke into the film. I'll admit humor is subjective but the scene could've been cut out entirely to save time and keep focus on the severity of the threat.

Star Trek has been ripping off other properties since 1964. It wouldn't exist with out what came before and what came after.

Whose excusing bad writing? @Campe even calls it a "misfire".
I'm always struck by how much the cut of that dress is similar to the female uniform from TOS. Especially the Dress Uniform version seen in "Court Martial".

Is it one with the weird musical number in the 21st Century or the starship leaving stardock to a traditional Star Trek score
Both. I mean, it's not like they haven't ever worked a character singing in before:

I want you to put that side by side with the clip i posted and tell me which one is from Star Trek.
Both? One is on the Enterprise, the other has the fucking Borg Queen standing there. They are both recognizably Star Trek. And don't make me trot out clips of Picard on the Stargazer from the beginning and end of Season 2 next to clips of the TOS cast 1. In a Nazi movie, 2. In a Roman movie, 3. In a weird Western world, or 4. On a nuclear aircraft carrier, aka a nuclear wessel. Because I will.

Or the TNG cast in a 1940s noir setting, a 20th century casino, in the 19th century, amongst coal miners...
