Pretty much all of Kurtzman Trek goes up for pre-order within a week of the season/series finale. Stuff like this is all planned way in advance.
These guys are awful. Lasted 5 minutes.RLM have just dropped their review
They broke the plate
My first ever UHD pre-order! Mind you, I rarely buy blurays these days.No release date announced, but Amazon is taking pre-orders for Section 31 on physical media.
It's cause we all know Matalas was given free reign in Season 3 and Lower Decks is McMahan's baby.I’m only a few minutes in and already disappointed. This seems to be less of a SECTION 31 review and more of a “all Kurtzman Trek is terrible” hit job.
I know for a fact it’s disingenuous because Mike has said in another video that he’s been watching and enjoying LOWER DECKS. Yet in this video so far he’s claiming he hasn’t watched Trek since DISCO S2.
I was really hoping he would do a video on LOWER DECKS after the show had finished last month. But that he’d rather do a review of SECTION 31 is very disappointing.
His only writing credits for NuTrek so far, are 6 episodes of Discovery, 1 Episode of SNW S1, 1 episode of Picard S1 and 1 short trek. And all of those are as co-writer, no solo credits.Personally I don't have a clue how hands-on he was with that stuff, or with Strange New Worlds for that matter.
Matalas was also showrunner for half of Season 2. It was his idea to do a time travel story to LA, he also co-wrote the first two episodes. It's cause we all know Matalas was given free reign in Season 3
No they're not.The RLM guys are right again
We’ll see how well Vision does. Then we can pass judgment. Hopefully it won’t be the tire fire that was Picard season 3.And then he got a full season to be showrunner with an almost universally liked season that saw him headhunted by the biggest media studio on the planet.
The RLM guys are right again, Kurtzman Trek needs to go away. Whether it is truly his or the higher uppers directing him. It's bad. They are also right to question the existence or practicality of Star Trek TV shows in the current world, where almost two generations have been brought up with no hope and no optimism for the future.
When you have Kurtzman pitch the movie and saying "The Federation couldn't exist without a space genocide orgnisation doing genocide and Roddenberry was naive" (paraphasing) it tells me his shows are not the Star Trek that should exist.
Scenes like this are not optimistic, apparently...No they're not.
Because without Kurtzman we wouldn't have had 3 great Star Trek series.
Hardly. It was the same slop as the first two seasons, but with more familiar faces. People were blinded by nostalgia.an almost universally liked season

All the shows have had people solving problems as adults. If nostalgia is finally having a crew that acts like and works like adults to solve a problem instead of quipping or crying, then yes.
My favourite part of Discovery was them in an asteroid field and they spent the whole time making jokes, qupping and not shutting the fuck up even when that science guy died horribly. All the shows have had people solving problems as adults.
People have been saying that since DS9 introduced them.Little does Captain Pike know, that all his and the efforts of his officers mean nothing because Section 31 will just genocide their enemies.
Not enough money for Star Trek SNW, Star Trek Legacy or more Lower Decks - we need to keep Michelle Yeoh happy! So it turns out that Balenciaga did some of the dresses worn in the movie, at the insistence of Yeoh?
Yeah, no more vanity projects for Star Trek, please.
As well as it being a true follow up to TNG, as opposed to Stewart's keen instinct that PIC shouldn't be a sequel to TNG.If nostalgia is finally having a crew that acts like and works like adults to solve a problem instead of quipping or crying, then yes.
Deep Space 9 made it clear that they were a tiny, rogue and abhorrent organisation that not even Captain Sisko had heard of. They were antagonists. Now they're the space CIA but that isn't surprising when you consider Kurtzman wrote the Transformer movies which were full on US imperialist propaganda.People have been saying that since DS9 introduced them.
