What's the worst that happens? Oh no, more things I won't watch...

Agreed.
Well if it's a case that Trek you don't watch and stuff you do watch both get made that's fine.

But in the real world Trek you don't watch will probably get made instead of Trek you will watch. Paramount had a lovely something for everyone approach but that seems at an end.

@Quantum21, I’m going to have to ask you to drop the whole “I have insider knowledge that this is actually a backdoor pilot” angle. I realize the whole back and forth is mainly due to people responding to you and you in turn replying back, so this is not solely on you. But still, wading through all of this I can’t shake the suspicion that you know exactly what you’re doing and this is actually some attempt at trolling folks. I’ll let you off with a friendly warning this time, but I’m gonna ask you to not engage with this again, or it will be a formal one. Not only because the whole thing feels vaguely troll-y to me, but also because that’s actually not the only thing this thread is about.

In fact I’m going to ask everyone to drop this line of discussion now. Everything seems to be said for now, let’s leave it at that. Thank you.

The griping over Legacy not getting greenlit but S31 is kind of funny to me. It’s obvious why it turned out this way: S3 of Picard didn’t have that large of an audience for Paramount to feel confident in Matalas’ Legacy series. S31, however, was a project that Oscar wining actress Michelle Yeoh wanted to do, so it only made sense for Paramount to get that project moving.

I let that garbage scow sail.

This is a disaster. A movie called Section 31 that doesn't even deal with Section 31, The Lost Era, etc. A total failure.

Actually, I think it's more of a matter of having to move Legacy to Canada and getting the cast to move to Canada. Picard was only shot in LA to accommodate Sir Patrick. I mean, the car season 3 was top 10 television. If they could capitalize on that, they would.

Indeed yes.

And Legacy will end up on the receiving end of hatred too when it gets made. Or if. I don't expect it any time soon though.

And I don't fault Paramount for making this.

So the rumors about film/tv productions fleeing LA in the news do have truth to them...

It’s been cost prohibitive for years, which is why have to go to Canada. Now, sadly, with all the fires, that’s made things orders of magnitude worse. I’m hoping the prop houses and equipment storage facilities survived. Some of that stuff is irreplaceable or, if it can be replaced, likely stupid-expensive.

Section 31 had been in development since 2018.

If augments turning humans into augments was a thing, you think it would've been mentioned before. Khan should've turned Marla into one. Arik soong likely would've turned himself into one. And so on

If you moved World War II to the 1970's, things would be a little different today.

So in a timeline where the Eugenics Wars were moved from the 1990's to the 2030's(?), the Augments might have different abilities and access to different technology. Like in the Abramsverse how Augment blood can bring people back from the dead when the plot demands it...

As explained in the movie, he wasn't completely dead, frozen to preserve his life, and the platelets simply repaired the damage.
