Things that frustrate us all

Most of what I find are those that try to track my location by IP server address. Difficulty for them is I use a VPN and constantly change my IP location, and I don't use X, Facebook or Instagram.
Same here. Always behind a VPN which I reconnect to a different location regularly as well.

A bobby pin? What the hell's a man doing with a bobby pin? ;)

That film would have been so much worse without the Shat.

Looking for the release of lien and title I was sent back in 2021 for the car I paid off back then now that I traded it in. No idea where it is and am looking through ever box I can think of since it happen just as we were between two houses. Pulling my hair out as I go.

It might be better to contact the DMV for a duplicate title. You can do it in my state online.

When people complain about something that they personally don't like or don't "get," by posing it as a "Why on earth would anyone do ________?" question, but are clearly not actually interested in expanding their horizons and learning the answers to that question.

Kor
People don't want to learn. Generally speaking they are very comfortable with life, and perspectives being unchallenged. Given that modern culture can as much reward escapism as hard work I don't know that I blame them.

Nothing like having to hard wipe my new phone. :D It ran into an issue with reading my pin when I turned on Night Light mode. But it turns out that the Wrong Pin issue is an Android 14 bug. It reads a correct pin as a
wrong one. 🫠 :wtf:

So I'm avoiding using a pin and such. Not taking any chances. It's just frustrating.

I was in a car accident last Friday morning. :(

I assumed, at the time, that the collision center I'd chosen - and which I specifically told my insurance guy about - would have it towed from the impound lot (don't ask me why it ended up in impound, I have no idea) to them. But today I get a letter from that very same impound lot, saying that the car IS FUCKING STILL THERE, and they're gonna sell it off in the next 30 days if I don't claim it!

So I gotta go down to the collision center after work tomorrow and get this shit squared away. :sigh:

Oh and good luck selling that car, guys, since it's most likely totalled. :guffaw:

Fun fact, though: In the meantime I'm driving a rental car. I keep forgetting what it looks like, but I can still find it, since it has Jersey plates. I don't know why that's so funny.

I'm so sorry. My sister-in-law is dealing with the same nonsense. Her insurance company didn't bother to get the car for 14 days after it was towed.

My deepest sympathies as I can greatly understand this frustration. As well as I hope your physical health is not impacted.

Good news: They got my car out of the impound lot (although I STILL don't understand why it ended up there, I should have asked the cops).

Bad news: It's totalled. :wah: Oh well. I knew it would be, anyway. The guys at the auto shop probably took one look at it and burst out laughing.

I'll say one thing, getting a new car will be super-easy, since it's gonna be the exact same make and model (Honda CR-V). There will be precisely ZERO haggling at the dealership.

Another good thing about this whole mess is that the cops on the scene were SUPER nice to me. They weren't like "Sir, get out of the car, NOW!" or anything like that. I told them that the reason for the accident was the sun was in my eyes, and one of the cops was like "I KNOW, right?" He had a hard time reading my license plate, the sun was so bright (this was about 9 AM).

And thanks for the health wishes, guys. Nobody was hurt. But I actually kinda lucked out - if the other car had hit me just a few inches more to the back, I might be missing key legs right about now.

And it still cracks me up that the rental I'm driving right now has Jersey plates. I seriously keep forgetting what this car looks like, but thanks to those plates, I can always find it. :D

I also hate when I take the public transport there is a detour or they're working on a train track because then everything changes! Like today: the train we were supposed take was not possible due to working on the train track so we had to take a bus, mom and me weren't pleased. Especially when trying to go home, mom got stressed and when she's stressed she's not pleasant

^ Yeah, I hate that too.

Like when I was on vacation once and on New Jersey Transit coming into New York City (I was staying with my aunt and uncle at the time, they lived in NJ). So we're just about to enter the city and they tell us that there's somiething going on on the track ahead and they diverted us to Hoboken.

Fortunately it's easy to take PATH (which is sort of subwayish) from Hoboken to NYC but it still frustrated me a bit.

Currently trying to get my passport for an upcoming business trip. Never had one before since the only time I was out of the country, which was decades ago, a passport wasn't needed at the time for where I went. Sent all my documents to the passport agency back in December, with the extra cost for an expedited process. They didn't like the birth certificate I sent. Notarized copies aren't valid (apparently), so I had to send the original. I sent that on Jan 6th by Priority Mail, supposed to take at most 3 days. It's now Jan 21st, over 2 weeks later, and the online tracker keeps saying "arriving late Jan 13th". Put in a support ticket, all the post office could tell me is "it's in transit". It's been "in transit" for nearly 2 weeks! I put in another support ticket, plus a "lost mail" search request today. In the meantime, just in case it's truly lost, I had to apply for a new birth certificate from a state I haven't lived in for nearly 50 years. Assuming that goes through without any issues, that'll take another week to get to me, then I have to send it off to the passport office again. At this point there's a good chance I'll miss my only opportunity to visit a truly foreign country. :brickwall:

My neighbor growing up was a Washington State Patrol Officer for 30+ years before retiring, and he's an avid Trump supporter, who voted for him twice, is now on Facebook angry that Trump pardoned the January 6th rioters, and I just want to tell him, "Why are you angry/upset?! He said that's what he was going to do. You knew that would be one of the first things he did when he got back in the Oval Office. You voted for him!"
