This film was originally a popular Spanish Prime Video film, and has been dubbed into every language, including English. So there was no need for an English version. Presumably the original film and its sequels will be adapted into several different languages in other countries.

The category in the Globes is "Best Foreign-Language Film" so I don't think it's unreasonable for an American-made film with the majority of its dialogue in another language to be nominated.

Speaking of unnecessary remakes, I finally figured out one good thing about Disney's latest live action travesty... the comments regarding the trailer are absolutely priceless. The best being:

"If they were showing this on a plane, I'd still walk out."

My wife has outlawed "skibidi" and other terms in her classroom. The latest slang term is "shrimp alfredo." One kid was openly defying her by saying it and getting other kids to say it too, even though, as it turns out, they didn't know what it meant. Let's just say the day after their parents were informed, they were behaving much better.
