Doctor Who and crossovers. What would you have liked to have seen?

The 12th Doctor and Bill and Ted.

'Ultimate
Timeline
TOUR!'

"Excellent!" *air guitar*
*Doctor facepalms*

I especially want to see them switch time traveling phone boots.

I apologize in advance...

Bill and Ted enter the TARDIS

Bill and Ted: "Whoa!"

Bill: "Ted my friend, this is a most bodacious display of transdimensional mechanics."

Ted: "Agreed, Bill my friend. Most resplendent."

Ted turns towards the Doctor.

Ted: "Dude! It's totally bigger on the inside!"

Bill: "How come ours doesn't do that?"

Doctor: "Because it was built by humans. Now, shut up and let me think.

Bill: "Absolutely, grumpy time traveler dude."

Ted: "Dude, check out this guy's guitar!

Bill: "Dude! You play? Do you want to join our band?"

Bill and Ted: "Wyld Stallions!" *air guitar*

*Doctor facepalms*

Yeah, I'll just show myself out...

I'm sorry, I know I just showed myself out, but I crawled back in through the window.

Bill & Ted stories are ultimately all about the music, so would this story have to be.

It's the Twelfth Doctor and Wyld Stallions against the threat of the Maestro. Hush! If River Song can meet every incarnation of the Doctor on Big Finish, then the Twelfth Doctor can face off against the Maestro. This is Doctor Who. There's always a way to "wibbly wobbly" your way around a plot hole.

The Maestro is targeting Bill and Ted because of the destined future that their music is supposed to bring. After their defeat here, the Maestro moves on to 1925 and the events of The Devil's Chord.

Depending on how silly we want to make things, we can bring in the Second Doctor on the recorder and the Seventh Doctor on the spoons.

The Doctor: giving new meaning to the term "one man band".

And, I repeat, they must at some point in the story try to figure out each other's time machine.

Marty McFly? Yeah, now we're getting too silly...

I'll just show myself out again...
Okay, apologies and thanks for indulging me on this. I hadn't thought about this for a while, but all of this suddenly sprung into my head out of the blue and I have to put it down somewhere before I forget it. I promise I will write this fanfiction someday. I just need to find the time.

The prologue should probably have Fourteen and Donna at the edge of the universe when he cast the salt, thus freeing the Maestro. Of course, the Doctor never actually finds out who is behind the whole thing in this story, only that some power is attempting to undo Bill and Ted's destiny.

The Doctor should meet and have a conversation with Rufus at some point about the boys and their daughters and the fact that the people of San dimas are worshiping the wrong people. Rufus secretly knows that the daughters are the important ones, but disagrees about his assessment of Bill and Ted. Thea and Billie may be the ones to perform the world saving music, but Bill and Ted absolutely must prepare them for their task.

Rufus: "Thea and Billie cannot achieve their destiny without the tutelage of their fathers. They are themselves musical instruments created by their fathers, but in the end they must move beyond them. A wise man once said about Masters and apprentices, that the masters are what the apprentices move beyond, and that is the burden of all masters."

Doctor: "That's Yoda. You're quoting Yoda."

Rufus: *shrugs* "So I am. The Church of Lucas has almost as strong a following in San Dimas as Bill and Ted."

*******

This is the structure for the final showdown. The Doctor has figured out what they need to do, a certain musical combination necessary to "reverse the polarity" of the Maestro's effort (the details of which are still TBD, awaiting my next stream of consciousness on the subject, henceforth referred to as "the anomaly") However, they don't have enough members of the band.

Ted: "I know what to do! Our future selves from later will come back to help us! We've done this before. We just have to remember to remind ourselves!"

Bill and Ted extend their arms in a "tada" motion, expecting their future selves to arrive on cue, but nothing happens.

Doctor: "That's a very clever trick, but not it's going to work this time, boys. If we can't figure this out, you're not going to have any future selves at all! Even your past is blocked off.
(pause)
Doctor: "Yes, your past is blocked off. But not mine! Yes, I did it before at the end of the time war! The Bow Tie and the Matchstick and the Geezer called All of me in to save the day. I only need two..."

The Doctor frantically works controls all around the console, finally slapping down a button and flipping a switch and the screen says "sending transmission", then a moment later "transmission received and understood", twice.

Suddenly, to Bill and Ted's astonishment, two more TARDIS appear before them. Out of the first one steps a funny hobo looking man with a bowl haircut, rumpled clothes and a crooked bow tie carrying a recorder instrument. "So you're the latest model? Always happy to help myself out."

Out of the second tardis came a man dressed with a jacket with question marks on his lapels, a vest colored green and yellow checkered with question marks and a white hat looking something like an eccentric professor, and this man was carrying... Spoons? "Quite the prrredicament you've gotten ourselves into isn't it? Shall we?

Bill: "Who are they?"
Doctor: "it's a long story, but you would call them 'my past me's"
Ted: "Whoa. Our future and past selves always look just like we do now."
Doctor: "Not this time boys."

The group all moves into the Doctor's TARDIS.

Hobo: "Oh my giddy aunt! I see you've had the place redecorated."
Doctor: "Yes, I know, you don't like it. Get over it.
Doctor: All right everybody, I'm starting to remember how this all works out. (picks up his guitar) Let's jam!"
Bill and Ted: "Excellent!!"

The Hobo starts off with a gentle melody on his recorder while the Professor, much to the amazement of Bill and Ted, provide percussion with his spoons!

Ted: "Whoa! He's totally playing the spoons! We'll have to teach that to Thea and Billie!"
Bill: "Most assuredly."
The Doctor hears this exchange and smiles. Rufus plan is working out just as intended.

The Doctor joins in with the Hobo and the Professor and Bill and Ted soon follow suit and the band plays a powerful medley and the anomaly shudders. Elsewhere and else when, the Maestro roars in defiance and the anomaly gains in power threatening to overcome the band.

Suddenly a new guitar chord enters the song and the song becomes one of power and enrapturement overcoming the anomaly and defeating the Maestro, ensuring that Bill and Ted's destiny is safe. The Maestro licks their wounds and moves on to London 1925 and the events of The Devil's Cord.

The group turns in astonishment to see the source of the new chord that saved the day...

Bill: "Rufus!"
Ted: "You totally saved us!"
Rufus: "Believe me boys, I'm just returning the favor."

The Doctor turns towards the Professor and the Hobo, and says to the Hobo:
Doctor: "You were off key. You almost blew the whole effort."
Hobo: "Nonsense. My ear is impeccable. Perhaps it is your instrument that needs tuning. It sounded a little bit flat."
Professor: "Rrregardless, the day is won, despite neither of you being able to keep the tune."
Doctor and Hobo glare at the Professor.
Hobo: "Well, I imagine that we should be off. The rules of time and space and all that."
Professor: "Indeed. It was a pleasure to perform with me. Farewell."
Doctor: "Thanks for the help."
The Hobo and the Professor return to their own TARDIS's and fade away back to their own times.
Doctor (to the now empty space): "My guitar was not out of tune."

The story ends with the Doctor observing Bill and Ted teaching Thea and Billie how to play the spoons. The Doctor smiles to himself and says, "The future is in their hands. God help us all.", and off he goes to his next adventure.
*******

I'll admit having a little trouble finding the Seventh Doctor's voice and my Rufus needs more Carlin, but this is less of a first draft and more of a stream of consciousness anyway. I'll watch a few more of his serials to try to get his voice in my head. I really am looking forward to sitting down and writing this.

Doctor Who meets the Robinson family ..... Yeah ok nope

"I have a TARDIS I can get you back to Earth" says the Doctor
"Our destination is Alpha Centauri" John Robinson
"OK let's go"

they all pile into the TARDIS including Smith and the robot
Doors open they all walk out suffocate and die....... Who'd have thunk the atmosphere was not compatible?

The Doctor takes off without looking back after the doors close behind the Robinsons

I've recently been watching the first season of the BBC's Musketeers, and I think a Doctor Who story crossing over with Musketeers would have been a lot of fun. The idea of Peter Capaldi's Doctor facing off against Peter Capaldi's Richelieu would have been awesome, like a modern "Massacre of St. Bartholomew's Eve."

Honestly, any time the BBC has done an historical drama, you could use the sets and a few of the actors for a Doctor Who story. Why not a War and Peace crossover in 2016 to tie in with the BBC One series? Why not something set in Whitechapel with the Ripper Street crew?

I suggested this in the other thread. I appreciate there's contractual issues, and obviously if the Who crew damage a set while using it there are issues, but you'd think any difficulties could be surmountable?

Why would you think they'd damage a set? Usually, any apparent damage onscreen is superficial and carefully engineered to look like destruction while being easily reversible if they need to do a retake. And sets get deliberately taken apart and repaired all the time, since what looks solid is often just a thin veneer. Surely the production crew of an action-adventure show like Doctor Who would have enough experience faking convincing damage and destruction to know how to avoid causing real damage to a set.

I wasn't trying to steal your thunder. I honestly hadn't seen your Musketeers suggestion. It was rather well cast, I think. Of course Santiago Cabrera is Aramis. Of course Tom Burke is Athos. (There's a part of me that wonders if there's a way Burke's Athos is an ancestor of Burke's Dolokhov in War and Peace, as unlikely as I think that is.)

Was watching The Agency earlier, with Michael Fassbender rushing down some stairs in a London CIA field office while at the same time a field team in Ukraine is trying to break out from behind Russian lines — and suddenly had the mental image of Fassbender opening a door from the office right into the escaping team’s car and pulling them out. (This didn’t happen.). A show about transdimensional espionage, perhaps crossing Doctor Who’s Celestial Intervention Agency or the earlier Division over with Star Trek’s Travelers/Watchers, sounds like a natural fit (if probably super-expensive to produce).

I love this idea, maybe they can navigate the doors using hats from the Adjustment Bureau so they can find a door to connect to the moving car

Ok, now I suspect I have to go watch The Adjustment Bureau…

It's definitely worth a watch. I mean I have a soft spot for the movie myself despite it not getting glowing reviews. It's based on a Philip K Dick story that was also used in the old Twilight Zone

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the one we almost got: Blake's 7.
Wasn't there a Who novel that placed those shows in the same universe?

I apologize in advance...

Yeah, I'll just show myself out...

Which Doctor would you prefer for a bit like that?

Could Tom Baker's 4th Doctor have ended the Federation in Blake's 7?
I mean, the writers could always just have it happen if they want — but I think the regimes the Doctor takes down usually have a convenient single stress point where the right action can take down the whole structure. The Federation in B7 — not unlike most governments in real life — doesn’t have that Big Red Self-Destruct Button, so it’d be harder to do believably.
