Jayru (JSnaith's) 3D Trek

After spending some time looking at the new fx on the Blake's 7 Blu-Ray set, I've finally been able to finish this beauty off:

More at some point, because things are slow at the moment with moving house (which was the big secret) My next posts will be back to Trek! :-)

Well... the move has been delayed, so I've unpacked the PC and started this:

I am aware of the history on this one, that it started life as concept for Star Trek Online, and then was updated and used in Star Trek Picard (season 3). The original class name was Pheonix. Decided to have a play around and see what I can do with it. The nacelles are placeholders until I can do something better. The same with the bridge as well.

Anyways, comments welcome, more soon!

That Elios is looking awesome! The question is, what’s your base color going to be? Gold or… not gold?
She's going to be "Eleos" like, similar frame, but... a bit more logical. The Impulse engines bug me on the original, as in - why so big, why so many vents? Why did Starfleet (or whoever within universe) mandate that these ships needed such massive impulse engine vents, and so many of them on each ship? Up until the TNG movies, impulse vents were getting smaller and more powerful, and then... Eaves and his massive honking nacelles and impulse engines *sigh*

I get it, I get that for some fans it makes sense to have them big and honking, because size donates power (apparently, I still say someone is compensating for something...). But I am going to grasp the engineering principles laid down in Trek up until the era of Eaves and go with smaller is more efficient and makes sense - especially on what is clearly a scout ship.

So smaller impulse engine vents, lol.

Now for the background, this ship was originally a concept design by Doug Drexler for what became Star Trek Online, called the Pheonix Class. The concept at the time was designed as a TOS frame and a TNG frame. Within universe of PIC this is a Phenoix Class starship. There is a brief mention of another ship of this class as well. I would imagine given the age of the class there would be wide variations between these ships. So this one is going to be in service to Starfleet as a Science Scout, with a USS in front of the name and an NCC prefix. I have an idea of a name and number. I'm thinking a crew of 40-ish. Light armaments, a torpedo/probe launcher.

Anyway's more on this tomorrow :-)

Ohhh…. I got that one from a cruise back in ‘94. Sat on a toilet holding a trash can, which were in simultaneous use, frequently.

Feel better, and drink LOTS of fluids. Dehydration comes quick with that crud, and can cause additional side-issues.

Yes... It was an interesting experience (not). Ended up with a kidney infection at the tail end, which caused a lot of problems. Last time that happened I ended up with sepsis. Caught it early enough that I think I've dodged that this time. But I shall know shortly.

Right back at you glad to read that you have recovered :)
Thank you.
