DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

I can't remember for sure what it was, but I while back I read a story about a movie that had 14 different people write different versions of the script, and even though it used bits and pieces of almost every version, once the final movie came out it only credited 3 or 4 of them.

As I understand it, that's pretty much standard practice in feature films, at least from the major studios.

Yeah, I understood this one. Found it just fascinating, that, at least dialogue-wise it is a Whedon-Vehicle, and when I stop and think about it, I honestly think, that one can hear this. Stuff like "Pop-quiz, Hot-Shot" sounded Whedon-esque, but I would never thought, that he actually wrote the dialogue.

I can hear it now, having been told he wrote it, as a JW line--but at the time it felt more like a line specifically written for Keanu.

LOL--I haven't heard anyone criticize his writing. Maybe his Justice League effort--but it is a whole other issue that people have with him right now.
There is a certain amount of negative revisionism that has gone on in recent years. Check out the "Honest Trailers" for BtVS, for example -- it's virtually all sneer and snark for a show that was almost universally beloved by geek fandom (i.e., the kind of folks who produce "HT") until Whedon became persona non grata.

People were very critical of his Wonder Woman script too

I agree -- he could've been great with better material. He certainly looked more right for the role of Bruce Wayne than any of the other feature-film Batmen.

When I saw Clooney show up at his foundation for "The Clooney Foundation for Justice" I thought "That is a real life Bruce Wayne". Even the foundation made me think "The Bruce Wayne foundation for justice" charity event

The silver hair makes him look even more like his father Nick, who was my favorite local news anchor in my youth and a work acquaintance of my father (who was also in broadcasting).

Maybe Whedon is not as bad as a writer, as people nowadays say, that he is? Just an idea. ^^
I don't think I've seen anyone call him a bad writer, a horrible person, but not a bad writer.

Yeah, he had some very strange ideas for his Wonder Woman movie. I when I first heard about what was in it, that it seemed hard to believe it was from the same guy who had worked on shows like Buffy.

Whedon was and is one of my favorite TV writers and producers, ever since BTVS. He made a couple of real good movies, too.

Looks like trailer coming for Superman the week of the 16th...
